Thank you Bike Auckland for for creating this emotive and effective visual display in support of the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims. It was very moving to see. #WDoR2024
59 bikes. 59 lives. Thousands left grieving. Each of these ghost bikes represents a person on a bike who has been killed in Aotearoa New Zealand in the last 5 years. In almost all cases, lower speed limits would have reduced the harm. Take a moment's silence to reflect on World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims 🕯️ With special thanks to the people who dreamt up and laboured on this art installation, to Greenpeace Aotearoa for their support, and to Brake (New Zealand) for their tireless work to make our roads safer. 📸 Simon Oosterman The full story 👇 https://lnkd.in/girqWy5s #ghostbike #artinstallation #tamakimakaurau #roaddeaths #speedrule #WDoR2024
