🌍 Shaping the future of climate reporting together. The climate-related disclosures regime is a success, with early evidence showing improved business decisions and smarter capital allocation. 💡 But challenges remain. Climate reporting entities (CREs) are grappling with data reliability, high costs, and limited guidance on complex topics. Scope 3 emissions reporting poses a hurdle too—getting solid data from up and downstream partners isn’t easy. In response, the External Reporting Board has been working through feedback and confirmed amendments to #assurance standard NZ SAE 1 and #climate standard NZ CS 2 last week. These amending standards apply for periods that commence on or after 1 January 2024. They confirmed: ✍ A one-year extension to the adoption provision for scope 3 GHG emissions disclosures. ✍ A one-year extension to the adoption provision for anticipated financial impacts disclosures. ✍ A new one-year adoption provision relating to the assurance of scope 3 GHG emissions. 👉 See their post below and click through for their webinar recording or slides. Get in touch with any questions or comment on your thoughts below. Together, we can drive meaningful change.
