Climate Action Company has 84% of the funds from carbon credits going to work restoring nature on the ground*. We have proudly helped enable native forest restoration at 17 sites around New Zealand through our carbon credits. Is there any other carbon credit in the world that has a higher % of funds going to restoring nature? It seems with most (even all) carbon credits you don’t actually know how much of your money goes towards restoration vs. administration. Climate Action can be simple - we want companies to have to pay a high price for their emissions, this incentives them to cut emissions more than anything else. (Above their marginal abatement cost). Then with this money we should be funding nature restoration. Carbon Credits can be the key mechanism to regenerate our planet, but we need to make sure the majority of the money from carbon credit revenue is going to restoration. *84% for our CCU projects which is the majority of our projects, it is 80% for our NZU projects and has varied historically. #climateaction #restoration #nativeforest

We use leading international standards (ISO 14064-1 and GHG protocol) to measure and certify your company’s emissions. Kia ora, We are really excited to be announcing a new chapter for CarbonZ - now Climate Action Company.  Climate Action Company's evolution reflects an expansion of direction from a carbon credit exchange to providing a number of services that drive real climate action and restore nature. We are launching our new Climate Action Certification to allow companies to take their organisation to net zero and beyond (more to come on this in a separate communication). On top of our continued offering of high-quality carbon and biodiversity credits, we now also work with clients to develop carbon and biodiversity projects that maximise impact. Finally, we now offer tailored solutions specialising in the blue economy and supply-chain insetting for larger companies that have more specific sustainability needs. Most importantly, our name change and expanded direction reflects our renewed commitment to our purpose; to see real climate action on the ground. Our team is concerned with the increasing lack of pragmatism seen in the sustainability sector and carbon markets. Too much financing is being allocated to administration, which takes away from the real impact. We are still seeing very little market-driven action on the ground to remove carbon, rewild our landscapes and cut emissions at scale. 2023 has been an epic year for CarbonZ and we just wanted to say a huge thank you to all our supporters and partners for helping us fight climate change and restore nature in Aoteoroa. Our biggest milestone this year was launching our biodiversity credits in Tairāwhiti with the Eastern Whio Link and in Ka Tiritiri-o-te-Moana with the Southern Lakes Sancturary. We also completed the Sprout Agritech Cohort X accelerator and expanded several of our native forest carbon projects. It has been really inspiring to see a growing number of kiwi companies that we are working with committed to emissions reduction and restoring native forests with Carbon Credits. CarbonZ has a number of really exciting projects in the works for 2024 to get scale up action on the ground and we can’t wait to share more early in the New Year. 2024 will be a vital year for climate action around the world and we look forward to working with you scale climate action and protect our precious Papatūānuku. With the recent finish of COP28 there are many takeaways both positive and negative to reflect on. One stand out for us was the launch of Recloacking Papatūānuku from Pure Advantage and WWF-New Zealand. This ambitious proposal to regenerate over 2 million hectares of native forest is seriously exciting and CarbonZ looks forward to contributing to this vision 💚🌿🌳
