Find a sunny spot - and settle in... We tell you everything you need to know about our new 'Celebration' issue. This season, Fashion Quarterly is all about celebration. And our cover star, model Te Manahou Mackay, embodies this theme perfectly. Captured by photographer Rob Tennent, the cover shoot showcases the effortless energy of summer while celebrating local talent. Inside, we pay homage to one of New Zealand fashion’s most influential figures, Kate Sylvester. In a heartfelt feature written by Amanda Linnell, Kate reflects on the end of an era, sharing insights into her journey and the legacy of her iconic brand. This tribute is complemented by a feature from Harriet Cowie on finding your authentic aesthetic, with practical tips to help you cut through the noise of trends and embrace a style that’s uniquely yours. Our fashion pages dive into summer dressing, from “Five Ways to Get Your Outfit Back in Working Order” by Louise Dunn, to spotlighting emerging designers who are making waves. And, of course, we explore the resurgence of the jort—a surprising but essential wardrobe staple for the season. In beauty, we examine the rise of genderless fragrances, a movement redefining how we think about scent and identity. The FQ team has also put the latest beauty treatments to the test, delivering honest reviews of everything from high-tech lasers to the buzzworthy Salmon Sperm Facial. If your calendar is packed with events this summer, our runway report and capsule party makeup wardrobe will provide ample inspiration. The life and culture section works to fully capture the spirit of entertaining and thoughtful gifting. Indulge in recipes for homemade ice cream and refreshing summer cocktails, perfect for hosting friends and family. Our five-page ultimate gift guide has ideas for everyone on your list—including you! And if summer travel is calling, let us transport you to Bali for the ultimate luxe getaway. Pick up a copy Fashion Quarterly, on sale November 25th, find a sunny spot – and settle in. What you’ll find inside Fashion Quarterly’s spring issue We all know spring heralds longer days and warmer weather but for many of us it also brings a fresh perspective, which, as editor in chief Sarah Murray writes in her ed’s letter gives a certain hopefulness. It’s that same sense of hope that underpins the latest issue of Fashion Quarterly with fresh new fashion editorials, trend pages, and insightful articles. Coined the ‘beauty’ issue it has an elongated beauty section (naturally) spanning 37 pages filled with spring beauty trends, treatments and tech. We explore the rise of refillables, blush blindness and the innovative beauty breakthroughs of 2024. Of course, the issue also delivers on fashion. In our trending section we’ve curated the top five trends of the season, must-have arm candy to sweeten your wardrobe, tips for mastering the art of ‘high/low’ dressing and we give you a roundup of the hottest new designers to watch out for and support. In the life and culture section you’ll find books to add to your nightstand, and an excerpt from Make it Make Sense - the debut book from the creators of media phenomenon Shit You Should Care About. Our On Top section gets down to business with 10 non-negotiables for your work wardrobe, singer Georgia Lines shares why the music festival SXSW opened doors for her and the role networking and collaboration played, and we ask whether wallets are becoming obsolete.  If you’re planning a getaway let photographer Ruby Hamilton’s dreamy photo essay from her time in Greece (in our travel section) transport you to another place, or read about why luxury accommodation The Landing delivers more than just a weekend away. Read all that, and so much more in Fashion Quarterly’s spring issue, on sale now! Editor in Chief & Publisher at Fashion Quarterly Magazine

Retail sales of Fashion Quarterly's new Autumn issue show an incredible 38% increase after a week on sale! Added to that we've seen a 9% increase in subscription revenue. Is print making a comeback...? While it's likely too early to tell, our data is super encouraging. Last month we also saw Dish announce they had increased their readership by 38.6% over 2023 - based on Nielsen's data. And late last year Roy Morgan readership figures showed print magazine readership in Australia was up 4.1 per cent on last year to 11.5 million readers. As for us, we'd like to thank everyone who has supported FQ recently - whether you've liked and shared a digital article or social post, come to our events, signed up for an annual subscription to the magazine, or added a copy to your trolley at your local supermarket. We see you. Elcoat Media Vanessa Bathfield Georgia Bramley Louise Dunn Amberley Colby SCG #fashion #print #publishing #nzmedia #independentmedia

What you’ll find inside Fashion Quarterly’s autumn issue We’re setting goals and aiming high in the new ‘Ambition’ issue of Fashion Quarterly. To inspire your autumn wardrobe, we explore the biggest trends of the season so far: bringing you bows, buttery yellows, and bubble hems aplenty. In our Trending section, cover star Zippora Seven shares her story of success as a Kiwi model in New York, and further in, we speak with nine of Aotearoa’s leading ladies on being their own boss. Plus, we tell you the new local designers to keep on your radar, and take a look inside the stylish wardrobe of Faradays’ head of brand, Amelia Haysom. Our Beauty section offers a plethora of inspiration for the creatively-minded, starting with a recap of our favourite runway beauty looks of late. The FQ team gives SharkNinja hair styling tools a trial run, we give you the low down on red carpet tweakments, and our editor in chief reveals whether Em Face is worth the money. In our Life and Culture section, FQ’s digital editor Louise Dunn delves deep into the anti-perfect styling trend, Fluidform’s Kirsten King shows us how to supercharge our workouts, and we tell you where to sup, shop, and stay this season. While in On Top, Nadine Rubin Nathan investigates whether ADHD is different in women. To close off our issue with a bit of wanderlust, FQ’s Sarah Murray takes an idyllic trip down south to Flockhill Lodge, our editorial assistant Amberley Colby recounts her journey to the Maldives, and we tell you where to staycay if you’re seeking a bit of uninterrupted downtime. Read all that, and so much more in Fashion Quarterly’s autumn issue, on sale now!
