Nic is our Recruitment Leader, and she is the perfect introduction to the Flight Centre culture. She is incredibly passionate about the employee experience, and the process people go through for recruitment. She will go out of her way to make sure everyone is seen, listened to, and feel valued in their journey with us. Nic is relatively new at Flight Centre, joining us in 2022. She started just as borders opened again and helped us scale our team numbers at speed working with our Alumni network for returning Flighties. Since then, she has had a special focus on helping people find their next steps within the Flight Centre Travel Group network, in turn driving leadership and support office positions. Her team won the Talent Acquisition Team of the Year Award at the 2024 HRNZ Awards, a very deserved spotlight on the work she does every day. Nic is like a sparkly unicorn. That’s really the best way I can describe her. She’s uplifting, upbeat, and kind. Nic, you brighten our day, every day. We are back from a very tropical Team Leader Conference in Fiji. This was an incredible opportunity for every Team Leader in New Zealand to spend time with each other, while experiencing the beautiful Fiji. This is where we update our leaders on our vision for our business, any developments that may cross their teams and hear from our suppliers. However, most importantly, it's time we can spend together as a team, building relationships and connections with those that they may not necessarily cross in their work day. The community we build on these trips is nothing short of incredible. As a group of travel-lovers, being overseas together is always a bit magical! At Flight Centre Travel Group New Zealand, we focus on providing consistent and engaging development opportunities for every level of our team. Last week, we hosted a Senior Leaders Day in Auckland CBD where master media trainer Greg Ward held a workshop on how to be an effective presenter with 50 of our team in attendance. We learnt: * How to overcome your nerves with public speaking * Avoiding death by PowerPoint * Understanding body language * How to engage and present effectively, including delivering complex information * Impromptu speaking practice, live presentations, and Q&A critique Putting together days like this is a lot of work and we deliver them on a regular basis. It is so worth it to have everyone learning together in a room, and having extraordinary speakers like Greg makes all the difference. It’s always something our teams look forward to. A big thanks to Greg for coming along and teaching us the tricks of the trade.
