  • We’re proud to share that Havana Coffee Works has been featured in the NZ Herald, thanks to our parent company Lion’s proactive approach toward workplace inclusivity. When our valued team member Carin Oelofse highlighted that KiwiSaver contributions had stopped once she reached 65, Lion quickly stepped up to review the policy, reinstating the 3% contributions for employees aged 65 and over. This change reflects our shared commitment to supporting every team member at any stage of their career. Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/gMpv6a8d A huge thank you to everyone who helped pave the way for this change. Fiona Fairlie, Jacquie Shuker.

  • Last week, the Wellington Havana team had an incredible day volunteering at Helping You Help Animals (HUHA). After a heartwarming tour meeting some of their rescued animals, we got stuck into painting their brand-new dog houses. HUHA works tirelessly to rescue and rehome animals, giving them the care and shelter they deserve. We’re so happy we could help them with their mission for the day! Huge thanks to the HUHA team for all the amazing work you do!

  • Recently, the Havana Coffee Works team in Auckland had the pleasure of joining forces with Dignan Street Community Garden for a fantastic volunteer day! 🌱💪 This was more than just a day of giving back - it was a reflection of our core values and commitment to making a positive impact in the communities we are a part of.    Our team engaged in a variety of activities, from spreading mulch around fruit trees to creating new regenerative beds for summer squash and cucumbers. A highlight was witnessing our coffee sacks in action - decomposing and teaming with worms, showcasing our dedication to reducing waste and supporting sustainable practices.   Volunteering is an integral part of our culture and values, and we're proud to be extending these efforts across the country in multiple locations. Each opportunity allows us to contribute meaningfully and align our actions with our company's values.   A heartfelt thank you to Luke, Aram, and Ozzy at Dignan Street Community Garden for their leadership and for sharing their invaluable knowledge on soil health and sustainable practices.
