What a fantastic turnout from the insurance industry! Resonate 2024 brought together leaders and innovators for an insightful afternoon and offered an engaging look into where things are headed for the future of insurance. 🚀 Simfuni was proud to sponsor this insurance innovation event, with the collaboration of partners whose efforts made it such a success! We’ve had great feedback on the thoughtful sessions on adapting to new regulations, like Open Banking and the Consumer Data Rights Bill; fresh approaches to improving customer experiences with technology; insights on global and local insurance trends; and how digital tools are transforming customer interactions & distribution of insurance. The four demos from leading New Zealand insurtechs showcasing examples of innovation in action were also well received. A big thanks to all the attendees, to Madison Reidy for her excellent MCing, to the speakers who shared their knowledge, and to the insurtechs who presented demos. 👏🏼 Kris Faafoi, Andrew Dentice, Brooke Roberts, Tim von Dadelszen, Kylie Bryant, Ben Lynch, Roneel Kumar, Benjamin Ross, Rob Ellis, Paul O'Leary’, Akahu, Folio.insure, Sentro, InsurTechNZ, Gallagher Bassett - Australia and New Zealand, Insurance Business New Zealand, Hudson Gavin Martin, and Sharesies. We're looking forward to Resonate 2025! #Insurtech #Resonate2024 #InsuranceInnovation

Looking forward to the next #InsurTech event about the increasing relevance of natural hazards, such as last year's floods in New Zealand, for the #insurance sector. I am particularly keen to hear about the role of descriptive #analytics, #machinelearning and #AI for assessment of underinsurance and the handling of other challenges: https://lnkd.in/dezyCdPt

Bounce Insurance is leading the development of parametric insurance for earthquake risks in New Zealand. Listen to Paul Barton's story in the latest Insurtech Story Podcast. It's timely because our final event for the year on 28 November will also discuss using data to better understand and protect against the risk of natural hazards. More details coming soon - check here for updates - https://lnkd.in/g44S2AWP
#Parametric #insurance is gaining momentum in #NewZealand and the Pacific as a crucial tool for #managing #risks associated with #naturaldisasters such as cyclones, earthquakes, and flooding. Unlike traditional insurance, parametric #policies trigger pre-defined #payouts based on specific #data, such as wind speeds or earthquake magnitudes, offering quicker and more efficient #financial relief. This #model is especially beneficial for regions with high exposure to #catastrophic #events. As #climatechange intensifies, parametric insurance is expected to evolve, leveraging advanced #technology and #dataanalytics to better serve the region's unique #risk #landscape. In this episode we discussed the topic – “Navigating Parametric Insurance in New Zealand Market” with Paul Barton, who is the Managing Director at Bounce Insurance, New Zealand and our host Surya Narayan Saha, who is the #Author of #books "#TheDigitalChoices", #Reform and #InsurtechDisrupted”. Points of discussion are as below: 1. How has parametric insurance gained traction in New Zealand, and what key factors have driven its adoption in these regions, especially given their vulnerability to natural disasters? 2. What are the primary challenges for insurers and policyholders when it comes to parametric insurance in New Zealand? 3. Looking ahead, how do you see parametric insurance evolving in New Zealand? 4. #InsurTechNZ acts as a gateway to #insurtech communities in #Australia and in other key markets through the Global InsurTech Alliance. Collaboration is key to driving innovation across the insurtech ecosystem. At our most recent event, six member companies shared their views on effective collaboration, including how to build the trust required to form partnerships. Engaging with an open mind, consistent delivery, and establishing shared goals and values, are universal elements for success. These first-hand experiences from founders and leaders were also reflected in new research from Deloitte and InsurTechNZ which identified the reasons for, and barriers to, collaboration. The full results of this research will be published soon. Thanks to our MC Mark Banicevich and speakers Bao An Le, David Leach, Elri Pienaar, Julie Bedggood, Justin Lim, Kylie Bryant, Nick Auld and Rob Coon. Be part of our community - the final event for 2024 will be on 28 November. https://lnkd.in/gAZrSn-W
