kiwiSaaS is entering an exciting new chapter as an industry-led community enabled by NZTech, with kiwiSaaS becoming a member-driven network that will continue to empower SaaS businesses and champion their success on the global stage. From 2021-2024, the kiwiSaaS Community successfully connected nearly 4,000 SaaS professionals across Aotearoa, fostering invaluable knowledge exchange and accelerating the growth of New Zealand's SaaS sector. Through this initiative, which was funded by government until June 2024, the community was enabled to increase collaboration and scale up the sector's global impact. A KiwiSaaS Establishment Board will guide the transition of the community from a government-led initiative to an industry-driven, member-supported network. Its role is to shape the community’s purpose, strategic goals, and work plan, while defining the value we deliver to members and building a sustainable membership base. 💡 If you're already a kiwiSaaS community member, you'll probably have received an email today - click on the link the email if you want to to opt-in to receiving news about next steps! 👍 If you're not yet a member, but want to support or join, sign up to receive future updates : https://lnkd.in/gbJYzx4m

  • New Zealand’s Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) sector earned $3.6b revenue in 2023. The new kiwiSaaS report, 2024 Insights from the Cloud, analysed 743 revenue-earning SaaS businesses across New Zealand. It reveals that SaaS has been growing by a 15 percent compound annual growth rate (CAGR) since 2016, and at this rate it is on track to earn $9.7b in revenue by 2030. The top 10 percent, or 75 SaaS companies, drive almost 70 percent of the sector’s overall revenue. These ‘high growth’ companies, such as XeroPushpaySeequent and Serko Ltd., generate a highly productive $305,296 average revenue per full time employee. However, the sector is mainly made up of SMEs earning less than $10m annual recurring revenue (ARR) per year. These 688 companies are in scale up-mode and only seven per year on average grow to the point where they exceed $10m ARR. “Doubling or tripling the number of scale up SaaS companies moving into this ‘high growth’ group is how we create new economic wealth for New Zealand,” says Bruce Jarvis, Head of kiwiSaaS. “All of our scale up SMEs need the means to be able to connect and learn from the small pool of people who have experience building a successful SaaS business from New Zealand. This is what kiwiSaaS was set up to achieve, and it now serves nearly 4,000 members working in the sector.” Download the report for free from our website: https://bit.ly/3Xt4i7k Comment your thoughts below 👇    #nzsaasinsights #kiwisaas #saasreport

  • New data reveals for the first time that New Zealand’s Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) sector is growing two and a half times faster than our export sector overall. The new kiwiSaaS report, 2024 Insights from the Cloud, finds that since 2016 SaaS exports have been growing at an inflation adjusted rate of 8.7 percent. New Zealand’s overall export economy, by comparison, has recorded 3.4 percent growth over the past two decades. By 2030 the report estimates that SaaS export-led added value will be growing faster and contributing more nominal GDP (at $4.5b) than New Zealand’s top three primary sector industries (horticulture, dairy product manufacturing and meat product manufacturing). Bruce Jarvis, Head of kiwiSaaS, says that the SaaS sector remains an ‘invisible giant.’ “How much the SaaS sector contributes to our economic wealth today, and could do in the future, is only just becoming visible.” The full report was released today – download it for free from our website: https://bit.ly/3KNbqDY Comment your thoughts below 👇    #nzsaasinsights #kiwisaas #saasreport

  • Magic happens when SaaS community members come together to share knowledge and to celebrate in each other's success! Last week, Tana Faaiuaso of Constructapp shared his inspiring SaaS journey with the Nelson Chapter. While working across several roles within the construction industry, Tana started thinking technology could make building more efficient, prompting him to create a construction management application. Tana's goal has always been to ensure the solution is easy to use, requires minimal training, and above all- increases efficiency and drives improved results for both businesses and the customer. The Nelson chapter was blown away by Tana’s overview of his business, and the collaboration in the room was electric! #kiwisaas #nelson #technology #growth
