We recently collaborated with our friends Nonna's Grocer on the Anjou Pear candle. Nonna’s Grocer craft artisan candles that celebrate home and heritage. Each candle is handmade in Australia, using quality craftsmanship to create products that surprise, delight and tell a story. The Anjou Pear candle seamlessly blends the distinctive styles of both of our brands, marrying our shared values of consideration for natural materials and celebrating design. We loved working with Madeleine and Isabel on this beautiful piece - read more about their work here: https://lnkd.in/g_W3YjZD #kowtowclothing #collaboration #naturalmaterial #design

Wear Nature. Not Plastic.
About us
Founded by Gosia Piatek in 2006, Kowtow is a seed-to-garment brand from Wellington, New Zealand. All of our garments are made naturally from a single fibre, Fairtrade organic cotton. Kowtow holds certifications with Fairtrade, Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) and B Corp. We take responsibility for what we produce, how we operate our business and are actively working on solutions to reduce our footprint. We are committed to the principles of circular design - reducing waste, making products that last, keeping them in use and regenerating the natural environment at every point in the process. Our collections are created to build a modular wardrobe, offering quality pieces that can be worn again and again, year after year. At Kowtow we are proud of our kind and caring culture. We aim to provide a positive work environment where people can achieve their full potential, and we actively encourage creativity and collaboration. Our team all share an interest in circularity, sustainability and innovation, and have a strong commitment to achieving our goals. “The limitations of our ethos keeps us innovative. We don’t compromise on design, and embrace restrictions. This gives our garments a strong minimal identity, and we believe the simplicity of our clothing is the first step toward circularity.” Gosia Piatek, Founder

Thank you to our talented friends RDYSTDY who put together this wonderful video for us. Helping to continue telling our plastic-free story through the Terra collection.
It is an honour to put together this ad for one of our very fav brands Kowtow Clothing, featuring their latest, and second ever plastic-free collection, Terra - inspired by nature's hidden depths and secret spaces. Featuring custom music fittingly composed using branches, waves, rain and wind, by our in-house sound designer 🌱

Gosia's home in North London was featured by our friends at IN BED last week. 'Her Victorian home is framed by a charming English garden that provides Gosia and her family, partner Thomas & son Laker, with a steady supply of home grown flowers and organic produce. Her thoughtful, minimalist style is evident both at home, and in the collection of Fairtrade organic cotton clothing that has garnered Kowtow’s loyal following.' We have once again partnered with Breast Cancer Cure for their Tees for a Cure summer campaign. Every tee sold funds vital breast cancer research right here in Aotearoa, New Zealand. This is a cause that is close to all of us at Kowtow and being able to contribute to the future of women’s health and wellbeing through our design work has been an important collaboration. Kowtow turned 18th over the weekend, I think that means we are nearing adulthood. I always see the company as my child and wow, 18 feels so grown up. Kowtow growing and thriving in amongst the bumps is truely a privilege. I feel so much love towards everyone that has touched this truly spectacular business. So I need to pause and say thank you to the current and past teams that have shaped Kowtow — you are brave change makers. Mountains of generosity, attention to detail, sustainability staunchness, brain power, commitment and a spoon full of fashion stress has meant that we are here, fighting the good fight! Our customers have chosen to vote with their dollar so companies like Kowtow have a chance in this world — because we are ALL voting for a fair, circular and natural fashion future. And now to you, ngā mihi nui to everyone that has supported us and worked with us over the past eighteen years. Collaboration is such an important part of what we do, we couldn't have gotten here without you. Thank you for allowing us to continue to work on solutions for the better of the planet! We were so excited to win two Gold Awards at the Designers Institute of New Zealand Best Awards on Friday for our Plastic-Free launch and our beautiful Melbourne store, alongside Rufus Knight Associates. It was lovely to celebrate with Madumal Gunaratna and Binh Minh Ha from the Rufus Knight team, who both worked so hard on bringing the vision for our first Australian home to life. Thank you to Vincent Lowe who worked with our creative and brand teams to extend our plastic-free story into the campaign and handbook, our gesture to accelerate the transition to plastic-free clothing within the industry. We've reached a milestone - extending the life of 1500 Kowtow garments through our repair programme. We believe that caring for your clothing is the first step towards keeping it in use and out of landfill. That's why all Kowtow garments come with the promise of free repair. Our in-house team repair garments in New Zealand and our partnership with The Social Studio Organization means we can repair pieces in Australia, keeping Kowtow garments in use for years to come. #kowtowclothing #repair #circularity #milestone

We were thrilled to be a part of Mindful Fashion New Zealand Circular Design Award again this year. We are excited to host Ella Filder, in our workroom as a part of her prize for the Excellence from a Rising Talent award. With 143 tonnes of clothing waste going to landfills around Aotearoa every day, it's imperative we change the way we design, use and circulate our clothing. The Mindful Fashion Circular Design Award set out to empower designers and businesses to design out waste and make products and materials that can be kept in circulation. #kowtowclothing #mindfulfashion #circularity #awards
