NZARE - New Zealand Association for Research in Education
Education
As a professional association, NZARE aims to foster excellence in educational research in Aotearoa New Zealand.
About us
The New Zealand Association for Research in Education aims to foster excellence in educational research in Aotearoa New Zealand. As a national organisation, we connect those interested in educational research, tertiary institutions, schools and early childhood centres, government agencies such as the Ministry of Education, and the New Zealand Council for Research in Education. We also maintain networks with similar scholarly organisations internationally, including AARE (Australian Association for Research in Education), AERA (American Educational Research Association), BERA (British Educational Research Association), and CCSE (Canadian Society for the Study of Children). We organises annual conferences and seminars on educational research where participants drawn from New Zealand and overseas share new research and engage in academic and professional debate. Our members participate in a wide range of special interest groups and caucuses reflecting various research specialties (e.g. early childhood education; mathematics education; adult and tertiary edcucation; education for sustainability) and researcher identities (Māori, Pacific, and student and emerging researcher caucuses). Members receive association newsletters as well as complementary copies of the New Zealand Journal of Educational Studies, NZARE's official journal (published by Springer). To further support research dissemination, networking, and researcher profiles, we host a popular blog, Ipu Kererū (www.nzareblog.wordpress.com) which publishes work from a wide range of NZARE members at all career stages.
