Forensic science verification of origin providing traceability in supply chains.
About us
Sustainability isn’t just about tackling climate change, it represents a growing conscience around our actions and the impact they have on people, animals and planet. The personal, professional and governmental move to sustainable practice is driven by a desire to change our impact on the world, but we can’t do this without knowing the certainty of our actions. Transparency is one way of holding ourselves accountable, but for it to be effective it must be underpinned by proven traceability. Our scientific traceability does just that. Working with Mother Nature, we help brands across fashion, food and pharmaceutical industries verify the origin and authenticity of their products and raw materials. With this verified truth, brands are empowered to make changes across their supply chain to operate more sustainably, and pass those assurances onto their consumers.

📈 The investment in Supply Chain Sustainability is forecast to increase over the next two years according to the Verdantix Smart Innovators: Sustainable Product and Materials Traceability Software report. Here’s why: 1️⃣ Regulation is tightening – Particularly the US Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA), but also similar legislation across the world, such as Canada’s forced labor law, the EU ban on forced labor, and the EU Deforestation Regulation. 2️⃣ Consumers are increasingly holding businesses to account – 76% of consumers say they would stop buying from firms that neglect environmental, employee, or community wellbeing. 3️⃣ Growing investor expectations – Investors are demanding greater transparency around sustainability from the businesses they invest in, with 89% of investors taking ESG factors into account in their investment decisions. Against this backdrop, it’s clear that organizations increasingly need solutions to enable collection, management, tracking, and reporting of their product and materials data. This need has given rise to a growing number of traceability tools – but not all tools are created equal. 🌱 Sustainability will have an increased focus in the European Union with the coming implementation of a new Digital Product Passport (DPP) – and product origin is a key component. Part of the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation, the DPP will require companies to disclose key product data—such as origin, durability, and environmental impact—to support transparency and sustainability. 📰 "Willful ignorance won’t get seized shipments out of CBP detention, nor will it prevent future Withhold Release Orders (WROs)." When a fashion shipment is detained by US Customs and Border Protection (CBP), verified origin can mean the difference between getting those products to market in time or losing the season. Since the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA) first entered into force over two years ago, the apparel, footwear, and textiles category has racked up the second highest number of CBP examinations. And with legal fees reaching up to $60K USD for a single shipment, it pays to be prepared. Having visibility over the entire supply chain, being prepared with the appropriate documentation, and verifying the origin of your materials is the best way to mitigate the risk of detentions. Proactivity is key. To learn more about the true cost of detentions and how to mitigate them, download the whitepaper: https://lnkd.in/eUb_s-kr #oritain #sourcingjournal #uflpa #detentions #compliance https://lnkd.in/gV_J42-c
