Fungi Fact Friday! 💡 Two spores of two species of fungi, Phellorinia herculeana (Pers.) Kreisel and Podaxis pistillaris (L.) Fr., are used as a natural sunscreen by the Wayuu indigenous people in Colombia. Application directly onto skin protects wearer from ultraviolet radiation - cool stuff!

It's fungi fact Friday! One of the coolest things about mycelium leather is that it can be dyed any colour. This brings a lot of versatility to our materials, which customers and producers love! #myceliumleather

Happy fungi fact Friday! Did you know that humans aren't the only fungi farmers? Leaf-cutter ants have been farming fungi for much longer than we have. These ants carry small chunks of leaf tissue into their nests upon which they cultivate a specific type of fungus (Leucoagaricus gongylophorus). This is a win-win for the ant and the fungi - the ant gets a stable food source and the fungi gets a climate controlled environment to live in 🍄🤝 🐜 #fungifactfriday #mycelium #mushroom #fungi
