School of Built Environment - Massey University

In the last 3 days, we had over 160 high school students from all over NZ visiting our Digital Lab at Massey University. This was possible thanks to the Rotary National Science and Technology Forum 2025. We had fun learning how to create 3D models using #photogrammtery, how to use these models in 3D presentation and how to visualize them in VR and AR. Thanks to Rotary International and the staff of the School of Built Environment - Massey University who made it possible!

We are carrying out research, "Cognition Matters in Mental Health", with the University of Southern Queensland, to explore cognitive vulnerabilities that may contribute to risk behaviours within the construction environment. To participate, please use the link: https://lnkd.in/gxJA_6E9; or scan the QR code in the post. Your participation will involve the completion of an online questionnaire and several cognitive tests that will take approximately 20-30 minutes of your time. Questions will include history of employment, Suicidal ideation attributes, history of suicide attempts, habitual problem solving, substance use, cognition and mood. E.g., “Have you ever considered suicide?”, “Did these thoughts include a fairly detailed plan?”, and “Have you ever attempted suicide?” using a yes/no response format. Your participation in this project is entirely voluntary. If you do not wish to take part, you are not obliged to. If you decide to take part and later change your mind, you are free to withdraw from the project at any stage. However, because your responses are anonymous, you will be unable to withdraw data collected about yourself after you have participated in the questionnaire. Many thanks for your time for taking the survey. We trust your contribution will help our industry to tackle mental health issues in the construction industry.

This MiniMURF project at our School of Built Environment - Massey University differed from my PhD research, however it provided me huge opportunities to improving my skills of independent and critical thinking, time management and technical writing. I am deeply grateful to the project leads Chandana Siriwardana, PhD and Wajiha Shahzad for their invaluable guidance. Thankful to M Ahmad Naeem for contributing his input to this work. I am pleased to share the publication of our latest research paper in Management Research Review (Web of Science and Scopus indexed, Q1, Impact Factor: 3.10). This study investigates the crucial intersection of information quality and strategic decision-making in NZ construction organisations. Our research addresses three key objectives: 1. Identifying and analysing critical factors influencing information quality (Project Pipelines Information) in NZ construction organisations. 2. Examining the impact of information quality (Project Pipelines Information) on strategic decision-making processes. 3. Evaluating how information quality (Project Pipelines Information) affects organisational performance. The study's primary contribution is a comprehensive framework that illuminates the role of information quality in construction industry decision-making. We systematically synthesise existing literature and develop visual representations of the complex relationships between information quality, decision-making processes, and organisational performance.
