These holidays you'll be looking for something for the kids to do on the odd wet day. Get them into art! They could win a goodie bag in the inaugural Waitangi Day Art Competition. There are three age categories and they can create a work that reflects their favourite activities on Waitangi Day. Put their details on the back and drop into The Incubator at the Historic Village. All the art will be on display at the Tauranga Moana Waitangi Day Festival for everyone to enjoy. #TK #thekollective

SociaLink has its first patron! One of our founding members, the incomparable Kathy Webb, was made patron at our Christmas party. So nice to honour Kathy's unstinting work to grow our organisation. But first we did op shop present swapping - and there were many "stealings" of the better looking items under the tree. Lots of happy chat - like all of us we're ready for a summer break. Merry Christmas everyone!

Twice a year SociaLink facilitates a women-only event that creates space for networking and self reflection by offering an informal setting to share and focus on wellbeing. The increased workloads many kaimahi have experienced supporting whānau, families and individuals in the social and community space this year means these events are a chance to top up so kaimahi can keep on giving. Our recent event, Catching your Breath, was held at Kulim Park. A BBQ lunch was provided and temporary koru art created. Looking to take stock and regenerate?
