Did you see us on Seven Sharp last night? Laura and Adam had the fantastic opportunity to talk about the motivation behind Solid, how you get our toothpaste on your brush (always a good question!), and how we can all make a difference in stopping plastic from going to landfill. Ngā mihi ki a koutou to Lucas de Jong and the Seven Sharp team and to Foodstuffs and the Emerge team for the opportunity. Solid is pleased to announce that we are a Coralus Semi-Finalist! A massive ngā mihi to the Coralus community for selecting Solid and Laura for this amazing opportunity. What is Coralus? Coralus is a community of women who support other women with capital, advice and mentorship. Now Solid and nine other amazing ventures (including our friends over at Vince New Zealand ) go into the final round. The finalists will get access to an interest-free loan and support from this wonderful community. And this community has a tough job ahead – the 2024 Semi-Finalists are an impressive bunch check them out here: https://lnkd.in/g_7nJnwK Adam McConnochie, Ministry of Awesome, Creative HQ, Porirua City Council, Foodstuffs North Island Limited, Foodstuffs South Island

Solid is heading down to Ōtautahi this weekend for the Go Green event, so it's a good time to reflect on our time with Ministry of Awesome and Laura's time in the Electrify programme. Ngā mihi to Anjali Budhia for the spotlight. https://lnkd.in/gFckh8J3

Last week Solid went to Ōtepoti Dunedin. We were lucky enough to guest lecture to OHT students in training at the Faculty of Dentistry Te Kaupeka Pūniho at the University of Otago Ōtākou Whakaihu Waka. Laura and Adam spoke about sustainability in oral care. We outlined some of the challenges the sector face, offered Solid as a case study, and suggested some reasons to be hopeful about the future. One surprising takeaway? 69 percent of the students didn’t think the existing sustainable options were up to the task of infection control. This was significantly higher than the next most popular options - a lack of time and that other (older) colleagues might not see it as a priority. Massive thanks to Melissa Young and Sam Carrington for hosting us, see you next year 😊

If you’re a Solid follower, you will know that Solid is now available in over 100 New Worlds nationwide. So Adam recently got on the road and visited all the New Worlds in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Nelson, Christchurch and everywhere in between. Something like 59 New Worlds, from New World Te Kauwhata to New World Kaikōura. In business you have to know your customer, so this was a good way to understand New World and the communities they serve, build connections with the various buyers and store owners and (most excitedly) see Solid all around the motu. So what’s next? Look out for more Solid Facebook giveaways, instore tastings, our cool instore posters and much more! A big thank you to our various friends and whānau for looking after Adam along the way 😊 Rachel Prenty, Chris Quin, Rotea Katu-Smythe, Gemma Eastwood, Talia Olsen, Tom McKenzie, Mary Devine, ONZM, Foodstuffs North Island Limited, Foodstuffs South Island

Big thanks to the New Zealand Trade and Enterprise Green team for inviting Adam along to share the Solid story at their latest hui 😊 It was great to hear from our friends Sophie and Karina at Nonstop Solutions and to meet NZTE board member Deb Shepherd. Companies like Solid get a lot from NZTE so it was nice to share with the team the kaupapa behind why we do what we do. Ngā mihi Megan and team!

Yesterday Adam popped down to our local, New World Porirua, to see Solid on their shelves for the first time. We are a proud local company so it was nice to feature in the local newspaper, the Kapi-Mana News, and to tell Porirua a little bit more about ourselves. We have had a lot of local support in the last couple of years, so ngā mihi ki a koutou Edmund Barker, Francois Hecquet, Abby Damen, Anita Baker, Geoff Hayward, Grace Surridge, Luke Ball, Shaun Freemantle, Neil Macdonald, Kate Barker, Justin Douché, Kylie Wihapi, Anna Doyle, Paul Robinson, Sarah Sherriff and all the other awesome folk along the way. Congratulations to all the finalists and winners - especially the supreme winners, Hellers NZ's Butcher A great opportunity to meet more people in the Foodstuffs team, connect (and learn from) other suppliers and understand more about the Foodstuffs ecosystem. We even got mentioned as Emerge alum 😀. Big thanks to Rachel and Tom McKenzie as always for including and supporting us. Foodstuffs North Island Limited Foodstuffs South Island
