Hills Residences - 2024 Winner of the Te Kāhui Whaihanga NZ Institute of Architects Sir Ian Athfield Award for Housing. . To take home this award was an amazing surprise. To be recognised alongside previous winners who have set a high benchmark for innovation and excellence is an incredible honour. Jury Citation - "Ath was a thinker, maker, agitator and larger-than-life figure whose legacy remains not just in his eponymous practice but throughout Aotearoa New Zealand, the Pacific, Australia and beyond. Hills Residences is an example of pushing boundaries here and beyond our borders, a famously Athfieldian quality. This project demonstrates how buildings otherwise slated for demolition can be successfully re-used. It shows that multi-residential projects can cater for diverse users and tastes and succeed as a piece of city-making through densification, connecting, stitching and imagining beyond the site. Perhaps most importantly, it's part of a wider project by the architects to energise Kirikiriroa Hamilton through connection to its river." Absolutely thrilled with Three significant wins last night at the 2024 Te Kāhui Whaihanga NZ Institute of Architects Awards:   MADE - Winner - Planning & Urban Design Hills Residences - Winner of Housing Multi Unit. - Winner of the Sir Ian Athfield Award for Housing.   We were incredibly honoured to have had four of our projects shortlisted for the National Awards and are absolutely thrilled to bring home two wins. The studio will definitely be buzzing for a while. . A huge thank you to the Te Kāhui Whaihanga NZ Institute of Architects of Architects Awards for hosting such a memorable evening and to the entire industry for inspiring and elevating one another. And another massive thank you to Stark Property and the incredible consultant teams and contractors who poured their talent and dedication into these projects. Your hard work and passion are greatly appreciated. . Congratulations to all the other deserving winners and nominees; it’s a privilege to be part of this great community. 455 Grey Street, Hamilton East – An iconic heritage building situated on the corner of Grey and Clyde Streets within the bustling community of Hamilton East. The building, which was originally constructed in c.1910 for the Waikato County Council, comprises 500 sqm of office space over two levels, together with on-site parking. The heritage building will be restored to its former glory and link seamlessly with our wider Hills Village development. Set in the heart of Hamilton's central city, 18 London Street is undergoing an extensive redevelopment, transforming it into a new landmark commercial building.   The comprehensive upgrade includes seismic strengthening, a new lobby extension, and cutting-edge end-of-journey facilities. This will convert the building into 4,200 square meters of premium commercial space spread across six floors, each offering an attractive outlook across the city and Waikato River. We look forward to seeing the progress of this project, which is scheduled for completion in 2025.
