To be recognised alongside previous winners who have set a high benchmark for innovation and excellence is an incredible honour. Jury Citation - "Ath was a thinker, maker, agitator and larger-than-life figure whose legacy remains not just in his eponymous practice but throughout Aotearoa New Zealand, the Pacific, Australia and beyond. Absolutely thrilled with Three significant wins last night at the 2024 Te Kāhui Whaihanga NZ Institute of Architects Awards:   MADE - Winner - Planning & Urban Design Hills Residences - Winner of Housing Multi Unit. - Winner of the Sir Ian Athfield Award for Housing.   We were incredibly honoured to have had four of our projects shortlisted for the National Awards and are absolutely thrilled to bring home two wins. The studio will definitely be buzzing for a while. . A huge thank you to the Te Kāhui Whaihanga NZ Institute of Architects of Architects Awards for hosting such a memorable evening and to the entire industry for inspiring and elevating one another. Fantastic news for PFS Engineering Ltd! . Their exceptional craftsmanship on the Taurapa Pedestrian Bridge and MADE spiral staircase was recognised at the recent Steel Construction New Zealand 2024 Awards. Both projects presented unique complexities that the PFS team overcame with skill and dedication, resulting in beautiful and functional steelwork. . Hamilton Gardens Visitor Arrival Centre // 2024 . What an Honour it has been to design the new Arrival Centre for such a beloved destination in our city. The Hamilton Gardens have been an iconic attraction for years, and it’s a privilege to be part of the growth. Partnering with local Mana Whenua, cultural artists and the incredible team at the Gardens, we believe the new entry precinct is a unique expression of Aotearoa architecture and reflects the identity and narrative of its place. Inspired by the palisade fencing of Te Parapara Garden and traditional māori garden tools, our design blends crafted detailing with the warmth and familiarity of timber. This space creates a multi-directional, welcoming place that draws visitors in from the moment they arrive. As the Gardens continue to evolve, this revitalised arrival centre serves as a new visual marker and gateway to the themed gardens. Our hope is this new civic space will continue welcoming many more generations to come. A big thanks to all the incredible collaborators who helped bring this project to life. The Hive // On the drawing board . With its thoughtful design, focus on usability, and sensitivity to the school’s existing palette. The Hive will become a new arrival point for St Paul's Collegiate School, becoming the new home for a Health and Wellbeing Centre, School Shop and Staff offices, as well as integrating with the upgrade of Sargood boarding house. . We look forward to seeing this vision take shape soon!!

It's been incredible to see both the new Te Ara Pekapeka bridge and the Taurapa pedestrian bridge being embraced by the community since their recent opening. Being part of a project of this scale has been a rewarding experience, and seeing it come to life is a proud moment for our team.  . Te Ara Pekapeka stands strong on the eastern bank, a single pier carrying the impressive weight of 3000 tonnes of steel as it gracefully spans the Waikato River. Reflecting the woven strands of Kete and the fertile land surrounding it, the intricate latticework of the support pier creates a network that elegantly balances strength and finesse. .
