STIHL New Zealand Ltd. reposted this
Hey LinkedIn, it's been a while.. Stihl gave me a call last week and asked if it would work out for them to pop by to a job and film me working + review their products, so I gave them three properties to choose from and this morning we met on site and chewed the fat. These are three new bits of gear yet to be released to the market, and I enjoyed every moment using them this morning. I believe they'll be released in April and I honestly can't get a gauge of which one I prefer the most. After starting the business in 2008, I switched to Stihl in 2020 after the big Covid lockdown due to how prominent they were in the market with their battery range and how many stores they had for servicing should anything go wrong. Buying in 2020 albeit such a short time, has meant that I have seen the AP/professional range expand and evolve, the HSA94R which is my go-to hand trimmer is now set to be replaced with these units: The HSA140R & HSA150R, and then there's a completely different one created for finer work and finishing, the HSA140T. The most obvious difference is that the new units all have their batteries in-house, where the 94 requires an external battery that is attached via cable whether that's a backpack or a waist belt battery is up to the user. I used both 140's from the end of September and had a lot of fun with them, but today was the first time I've used the 150, and it was the first time I've used a trimmer with that type of design, it was a lot of fun, making jobs even more efficient with the debris sweep. I'll be posting more about the HSA150R as I've been given the green light to wreak havoc with it for the next week or so. Watch this space. I really do wish that this battery equipment, at this level was available when I first started the business 17 years ago, but it makes me wonder what it will look like in another 17 years.
