We need your help to Stuff the Bus! We're proud to be back with Tauranga’s 95.8FM The Breeze for another year, helping to support locals who need a helping hand these holidays. On Tuesday 3 December from 8am-10am, the bus will be parked at Omanu Primary School so join us to help stuff the bus with non-perishable food, clothing, or presents for kids who would otherwise go without this Christmas. The bus will then be on the streets of the Bay visiting various events, local schools, and businesses before the final ‘Stuff the Bus’ stop at at Christmas in the Park on Saturday 7 December. About us
Welcome to Zespri, one of the world’s most successful horticultural marketing companies and New Zealand’s largest horticultural exporter, exporting kiwifruit to more than 50 countries around the world, managing 30 percent of the global volume. Zespri is 100 percent owned by current and former kiwifruit growers and has a global team of 900 based in Mount Maunganui and throughout Asia, Europe and the Americas. Our purpose is to help people, communities and the environment thrive through the goodness of kiwifruit, and we work with 2,800 growers in New Zealand and 1,500 growers offshore to provide consumers with fresh, healthy and great-tasting Zespri Green, RubyRed and SunGold Kiwifruit. In 2023/24, we supplied 164.2 million trays of kiwifruit to consumers in more than 50 markets, and recorded global operating revenue of NZ$4.21 billion. We are committed to sustainability, with areas of improvement identified right through the supply chain including our pledge that by 2025 we will use 100 percent reusable, recyclable or compostable packaging, do more to help the environment, and work with our partners to be carbon positive by 2035.

Our November forecast for the 2024/25 season is out with forecast returns up across almost all categories from the last forecast in August. At a per tray level, forecast OGRs have increased for all categories other than RubyRed, while forecast per hectare returns are now at record levels for Green and Organic Green on the back of improved yields while maintaining strong value in the market. The lift reflects the strong fruit quality we’ve seen this season when there’s been a record crop of more than 190 million trays to sell, as well as the strong demand for Zespri Kiwifruit. Our Northern Hemisphere sales season is underway and we’re expecting to sell more than 26 million trays of kiwifruit from orchards in France, Italy, Greece, Korea, and Japan. Our counter-seasonal Zespri Global Supply (ZGS) programme supports our efforts to deliver 12-month supply to key customers in key markets, to build the Zespri brand and to deliver strong, sustainable grower returns in an increasingly competitive kiwifruit category. Following the completion of sales of New Zealand SunGold, the ZGS season has kicked off in Europe, with Japan and Korea following soon and the US and China next month. For Zespri Green, we have more than seven million trays from Italy and Greece this season, with sales getting underway as soon as New Zealand sales have wrapped up in the coming weeks 🥝 Read the full media release here: https://lnkd.in/g_xtmbjj

We’re on a mission to revive a popular pastime in Singapore and that means our award-winning Fruit Pillbox is back! For many Singaporeans, enjoying a plate of fruit after dinner is a common childhood memory, however, a Zespri survey has found that nearly half of those who used to regularly enjoy having fruit after dinner no longer follow this healthy habit as frequently. We’ve launched ‘Start Small Add A +1’ to encourage Singaporeans to boost their fruit intake and our Fruit Pillbox first launched as a pilot earlier this year is back, with its seven compartments labelled Monday through Sunday, each containing a Zespri SunGold Kiwifruit, designed to make it easier for consumers to eat a kiwifruit a day! The Fruit Pillbox will be available at selected supermarkets in Singapore 🥝

We’re pleased to share our home compostable fruit label has received globally recognised certification from three of the leading certification bodies TÜV AUSTRIA, ABA and DIN Certco. The certification ensures the label can be disposed of in-home compost bins along with fruit peels and other organic waste, breaking down and biodegrading completely without leaving harmful residues in the environment. Exploring more sustainable fruit label options has been an area of focus for Zespri over a number of years with our labels providing an important assurance to consumers that the fruit they are purchasing is authentic, safe and high-quality Zespri Kiwifruit. It’s been fantastic to partner with Sinclair on this innovative development and we intend to change all our fruit to this fully home compostable label, with this transition to take place over the next year 🥝 To read the full media release, click here: https://lnkd.in/gkuwMihr

Founder Kim Harvey has been out visiting classes and hearing how much energy the students have from drinking more water, taking activity breaks and eating more fruits and veggies. Let’s keep up the momentum!

We're still buzzing from the Zespri Aims Games and the amazing support from the teachers, parents, volunteers, and supporters who helped throughout the week. Having now tallied all the points, we're excited to announce the winners for our Zespri hub activities. Athletes had the opportunity to participate in games and spin the wheel, earning points for their schools along the way. The team with the highest points and the winner of this year's $1,000 Sports Distributors voucher is Mount Maunganui Intermediate! Congratulations are also in order for Tāneatua School, which has won the Zespri team photo award for the most likes on their team shot and will receive $500 worth of sports gear for their school. Thanks again to everyone who stopped by and showed such great support for all our athletes during the Zespri AIMS Games. See you next year!

Our Innovation team recently hosted a group of students from local school Ōtūmoetai College at our Zespri headquarters in Mount Maunganui to teach them all about the kiwifruit industry. The students learnt about every aspect of the Zespri business, from innovation to branding and intellectual property, supply chain and our Zespri culture. The students were excited and intrigued to know more about the industry and are interested in possibly joining us in future! 🥝
