Ningbo Free Travel Stop 7: Old Bund.

Take a taxi from Cixi Ancient Town to Old Bund to see the night view. Located at the confluence of the Yongjiang, Fenghua, and Yuyao Rivers, Ningbo Old Bund has been a bustling port since the Tang and Song Dynasties and is an important starting point for Ningbo merchants. In 1842, Ningbo was opened as one of the "Five Treaty Ports." Although it was a humiliation at the time, it also brought business opportunities. Ningbo Old Bund was opened in 1844, and the "first Chinese bank," "first Chinese insurance company," and "first modern post office" were all born here. The Old Bund still retains its original appearance, with a large number of Chinese and Western religious buildings, foreign firms, celebrity residences, and Shikumen buildings in the neighborhood. It has nine cultural heritage sites and cultural relic protection units, including one World Cultural Heritage site and two national key cultural relic protection units. If you have enough time, it is best to visit the Old Bund in the afternoon to see the Ningbo Art Museum and China Insurance Museum, and then enjoy the night view in the evening.
