The unique plum blossom 'Longyoumei' is in full bloom

Longyoumei, a unique variety of plum blossom, has a peculiar large branch shape, with small branches naturally irregular and resembling dragons and snakes. It has no thorns, small branches are ridged, and the color is light green. The color of the flower is milky white on both sides. The flowering period is early and short, with a single flower period of only eight days, and the general flowering period is in early February. The park is located in Xinzhuang Town, Minhang District, Shanghai, covering an area of 116,921 square meters. It is part of the Shanghai Outer Ring Ecological Construction Project. The park was completed and opened at the end of 2015, with a total investment of 740 million yuan (including 700 million yuan for relocation) and 40 million yuan for park ecological construction. The park is a protective leisure green space, created by digging lakes and piling up mountains. It creates an ecological and natural garden landscape with mountains and water, forming major attractions such as Shuying Lake, Anxiang Pavilion, Plum Blossom Cultivation Garden, Hefang Pavilion, Rainwater Garden Experimental Zone, etc. The park also has basic touring facilities such as a water-friendly platform, pavilions, and tea rooms. The park features plum blossoms and is planned and planted according to the latest classification system of eleven major varieties of plum blossoms by Mr. Chen Junyu, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a master of plum blossoms. The park has more than 30 varieties of plum blossoms and about 1,000 plants. It is a special park that integrates plum blossom research, cultivation, and viewing.
