Sakurayama Hachimangu Shrine with its impressive large torii gate.

Although it is a bit far from Takayama Station, taking about 20 minutes on foot, it is a famous shrine in Takayama. It is said to be a shrine where prayers for victory were offered to defeat Ryomen Sukuna. The large torii gate at the end of the Omotesando path is impressive, and the shrine itself exudes a calm dignity. The shrine is also home to the Takayama Festival Float Exhibition Hall, where you can learn about the Takayama Festival. The entrance fee is 1000 yen, and it is the only facility that exhibits the floats of the Takayama Festival.
