🇵🇹 Wine Tasting in Quevedo Lodge, Vila Nova de Gaia

We received complimentary wine tasting with the purchase of round-trip tickets for the Gaia cable car. Quevedo Lodge, a wine tasting room, is just a short walk from the Cais de Gaia cable car station on the Douro Riverfront. Quevedo is a family-owned winery that has been producing port and Douro wines since 1993. We visited the wine tasting room on a Wednesday afternoon and were pleasantly surprised by a live fado session. Fado, a traditional Portuguese music style, is renowned for its expressive and profoundly melancholic character. Live fado sessions are held regularly on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 3 pm to 5 pm. We sampled both red and white port wines and ordered some snacks to complement the wine.
