Xi'an Travel Guide.
1. Weather and Clothing
From December to February, the weather in Xi'an gradually turns cold. The average temperature in December is between -1°C and 20°C, with mostly sunny or cloudy days and occasional light rain. During this time, you need to prepare warm clothes such as coats, sweaters, thick woolen coats, and down jackets. In January, the temperature drops further, with an average temperature between -4°C and 5°C, so you need to prepare thicker coats and cotton-padded clothes. In February, the temperature gradually rises, but you still need to wear warm clothes such as cotton-padded clothes and winter coats.
2. Travel Tips
1. Transportation: Try to avoid buying tickets for Xi'an South Railway Station, as it is far from the city center and may cause inconvenience to your trip. During peak periods or holidays, try to avoid taking a taxi or bus in scenic areas, as you may encounter traffic jams.
2. Tickets: It is not necessary to climb the Bell Tower or the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, so you can consider saving money. When buying tickets, you can consider buying a package, which is usually more cost-effective than buying them separately.
3. Safety: Be cautious when taking black cabs around airports and stations, as safety comes first. In addition, fresh-cut fruits in scenic spots are often expensive and not fresh, so it is not recommended to buy them.
4. Features: If you are interested in popular activities such as "smashing bowl wine," please note that this is more of a gimmick than a must-do experience. The price of specialty products in scenic spots is relatively high, so it is recommended to compare market prices before buying.
3. Food Recommendations
Xi'an has a wide variety of food. We recommend you try the local hot pot at Laoban Hot Pot (Hanguang Main Store) and authentic Shaanxi cuisine at Waipo Impression (Grand Tang Mall Store).
4. Itinerary Recommendations
Day 1: After arriving in Xi'an, you can first take a walk on the Xi'an City Wall, then explore the history and culture at the Forest of Stone Steles Museum, enjoy the night view of the Bell and Drum Towers in the evening, and enjoy a feast of food on Muslim Street.
Day 2: Immerse yourself in thousands of years of history at the Shaanxi History Museum, then pray at the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, enjoy the stunning effect of the musical fountain in the North Square, and then travel through the Grand Tang Mall to experience the prosperity of the Tang Paradise.
Day 3: Visit the Terracotta Warriors and Horses of Qin Shi Huang to feel the shock of history, then go to Huaqing Palace to reminisce, and return after enjoying the performance of the Song of Everlasting Sorrow.
This is a travel guide for winter in Xi'an. We hope it will be helpful to you, and we wish you a pleasant trip!

I thought the Great Tang Dynasty Everbright City was beautiful, until I visited the Huaqing Palace!
Hi~ I am Jiangnan Jun~
I have been to Xi'an many times
But it was my first time at Huaqing Palace
Compared to the crowded Great Tang Dynasty Everbright City
I prefer this one--
With history, landscapes, and architecture
Yet without the overcrowding of Huaqing Palace
This magnificent Tang palace at the foot of Lishan Mountain
Is very suitable for taking photos, checking in, and playing
It is a great place to go for the May Day holiday~

✔️Recommended check-in spots
▪️Lotus Lake
Around Lotus Lake, there are many suitable spots for taking photos, such as the curved bridge, Lotus Pavilion, Xuanjing Changsheng Hall, Magpie Bridge, etc. Currently, the spring scenery is just right, with fresh flowers and green leaves, matching the majestic Tang-style architecture
.
▪️Nine Dragons Lake
Longyin Pavilion and Nine Dragons Bridge are both quite suitable for taking photos. In the evening, there is also a performance of 'The Song of Everlasting Sorrow' worth watching
.
▪️Hot Spring Ancient Source
Originally, Huaqing Pool had many hot spring sources and relics, in addition to those of Emperor Xuanzong and Yang Guifei, there were also the Prince's Bath, Star Bath, Shangshi Bath, Lotus Bath, and several other pools. Not only can you tour and watch, but there are also pools where you can experience foot bathing on site

At the southeast corner of Huaqing Palace, the walking path up the mountain, there are many buildings to take photos and check in. Climbing halfway up the mountain to overlook Huaqing Palace is also a spectacular view

Huaqing Palace
Location: Huaqing Palace, Xian, Shaanxi, China
Entrance fee: 120¥ + 358¥ performance
Date: July 13, 2022
Huaqing Palace or Huaqing Pool is located about 35 kilometers east of the city of Xi'an, at the foot of Li Mountain. Hua means brilliant, Chinese or flowery; qing means pure or clear. It is a famous imperial bathing pool and one of China's Hundred Famous Gardens.
In Tang Dynasty, emperors would come to Huaqing Palace with their concubines. The Emperor Xuanzong used to spend his wintertimes at Huaqing Palace in the company of his favorite concubine Yang.
“Song of the everlasting sorrow” musical performance is a love story of Concubine Yang Guifei and emperor Xuanzong (Tang Dynasty).
She is known as one of the Four Beauties of ancient China.
Even though she was the wife of the emperor’s son, the emperor was attracted with her beauty, and eventually, he made her his imperial consort. Yang enjoyed a luxurious life after becoming the consort of Emperor Xuanzong.
However, she soon became the victim of courtly intrigue, which ultimately led to her death. But the legendary story of her romance with the Emperor would last forever.
She was so beautiful that we can feel it even just looking at her statue😍
The performance was so realistic, that I felt their love and sorrow. I had a feeling like they’re shooting an ancient movie and I’m part of it. It was so incredible and it’s worth watching it. I really liked it. If you go to Terra-cotta on the way back you need to see this fascinating place and the performance.

On your way back from Terra-cotta
Address - Huaqing pool, Lintong, Xi’an
Avg. Price per Person - 120 (entrance ticket) + 358 (performance ticket)
If you plan a trip to Terra-cotta army, then don’t skip this place on your way back. This a tranquil place where you can walk and enjoy the environment. If you are into history then you will witness the tragic story of a beautiful lady Yang Guifei. You will see the bathhouse where she used to take a bath and of course her statue. Don’t skip the performance at the end of the day. It might seem pricey but definitely worth it! The whole romance of the Emperor Xuanzong and Yang Guifei and the tragic end is presented in a stunning way.

Huaqing Palace Cultural Innovation Center, Meng Chong Shopping Holy Land
"Chang Song" performance before the start, Huaqing Palace will clear the field to prepare for the stage. The last moment before the temporary departure is the happy buying and buying time in the Wenchuang Center. Treasures of many Qing dynasty treasures
noon in the afternoon, the best choice in Huaqing Palace is to visit the indoor museum, which can better understand the Huaqing Palace and Tang culture, and also successfully escape the heat. In the Treasure Hall not far from Jiulong Lake, many precious historical relics of Huaqing Palace are displayed and treasured. The second floor is the Xi'an Incident Memorial Hall. You can see a lot of precious historical materials and you can learn more about this history. In the afternoon, we will watch the "1212" Xi'an Incident, and I feel very emotional here.

The beautiful night view of Huaqing Palace

If you also watch long hate songs, it is recommended to queue up early to enter, you can have a little time to take a photo.

Every time in the Huaqing Palace, after passing through the nine-turn corridor, it feels like going back to the prosperous era, standing here and looking around, the lake is as flat as a mirror, the pavilion is reflected, the weeping willows are on the shore, and the beautiful scenery is unobstructed. I don't know how many beautiful memories of Tang Xuanzong and Yang Guifei have left here.

An extremely beautiful building with many artifacts unearthed from Huaqing Palace, and witnessed the history from another angle. The second floor is a pavilion that introduces the Xi'an Incident. The photo resources truly reproduce the scene of the year.

This is a Jiangnan garden-style building complex built by the local county magistrate in the Qing Dynasty. When the Eight-Power Allied Forces invaded Beijing, Cixi lived here for a while. Chiang Kai-sheks two visits to the Shaanxi Superintendent are also here, and the most famous is the Xian Incident that took place here.
Crazyman_Sun.
There is a beautiful name called Furong Lake. The lakes and mountains, the small bridges and the Chinese garden style pavilions can be seen everywhere. You can see the "Changsheng Temple" of Emperor Xuanzong and Yang Guifei's "The Seventh Eve Oath", Furong Lake Summer The lotus flower is full of blooms, and the curved bridge with seven bends and seven folds on the lake can reach the Changsheng Temple through the curved bridge.
Morphie.
When the sky is getting dark, the water rises to the stage, and the sky bridges, like a dream. Today's journey to Huaqing Palace, a "long hate song" ending, perfect! I have been to Xi'an since I was a child. The memory is very vague. I have watched the Song of Everlasting Sorrow for 20 years.

Huaqing Palaces "The Song of Everlasting Sorrow" is in full swing. The 11th holiday has added a lot of tourists to this performance, to witness the love story of Yang Yuhuan!

As one of the Xiqing checkpoints, Huaqing Palace is just a National Day, so the historic Xi'an Incident must be worth seeing. The performance time will be 4-7 games per day according to the different conditions of tourism and peak season. It is a sought-after, remember to buy in advance!

Take a look at the small shooting spots of Huaqing Palace
Huaqing Palace is built on the mountain of Yifeng Mountain, south of Lushan Mountain, north of Lishui, a piece of treasure that captures the aura of heaven and earth. No wonder Tang Xuanzong is almost ten every year. I have to travel to this place every month.
Xu is everyone who wants to get a touch of aura. There are a lot of tourists coming to Qingqing Palace. I have been there twice, once with the group, once for free, and it is really different for two trips. I suggest you go there yourself.

The reason why the hot springs of Huaqing Palace attracted the emperors of the past is because Lushan is a dormant volcano, and the water flowing through it is heated to a constant temperature of 43 degrees. The hot spring water here is rich in minerals. At present, the "Lotus Soup" and "Haiyan Soup" used by Emperor Xuanzong and Yang Guifei, and the "Xingchen Soup" used by Tang Taizong and the five royal Tangchi sites such as "Taizi Tang" and "Shangshitang" are cleaned up.
