A detailed 2-day itinerary for Kunming, a lazy person's dream.
Kunming is a must-see❗
Don't just treat it as a stopover!
Siberian seagulls, Dounan Flower Market (the largest flower market in Asia)💐, Zhuanxin Farmers' Market with its strong local flavor, no one can resist🙅🏻♀️
🏠Accommodation: Near the high-speed railway station
DAY: Haigeng Dam→Haigeng Park→Haihong Wetland Park→Dounan Flower Market→Laoyuhe Wetland Park
✅Leave at 9:00 am and take a bus to Haigeng Dam to feed the seagulls. There are so many seagulls here and they are not afraid of people at all. Take photos📸 as you walk to Haigeng Park, which takes about ten minutes. There are no railings in Haigeng Park, so you can get close to the seagulls. Then walk to Haihong Wetland Park, where the red cedar trees are beautiful!
✅At 14:00, ride a bike from Haihong Wetland Park to the subway station and go to Dounan Flower Market. It is the largest flower market in Asia🌏, with many beautiful flowers. It is a paradise for girls, and no one leaves empty-handed!
✅At 16:00, take a bus from the flower market to Laoyuhe Wetland Park to watch the sunset. Arrive at around 17:00, which is just the right time. You must go here to watch the sunset🌇, which is beyond words!
DAY: Haigeng Dam→Zhuanxin Farmers' Market→Duiyue Building→Abnormal Coffee→Huanggong East Street→Green Lake Park→Yunnan Military Academy
✅Leave at 6:40 am and go to Haigeng Dam to watch the sunrise🌅. I love seagulls so much that I came to feed them again. Then take a bus and transfer to the subway to Zhuanxin Farmers' Market. I highly recommend the farmers' market, where there are many fruits and vegetables🎃 that I have never seen before. The roasted eggplant🍆 and preserved egg are delicious. If you can't eat spicy food, ask for less chili.
✅At 11:00 am, ride a bike from the farmers' market to Duiyue Building. After taking photos of the landmark building, walk to Abnormal Coffee and have a cup of coffee to rest. Then walk to Huanggong East Street (in the alley, only suitable for taking photos).
Walk from Huanggong East Street to Green Lake Park (which is average). The Yunnan Military Academy is right outside the park. The yellow building looks great in the sun☀️!
🚅15:40 Take a train home
🧡Tips
1. The temperature difference between morning and evening is large, so bring a thick coat.
2. Wear sunscreen!!!

Embark on a journey to a different dimension at the first stop in Yunnan-Tibet! Free of charge!
The first stop on the Yunnan-Tibet route, a single tank of gas got us to Kunming, Yunnan for fun. Originally planning to visit the Haigeng Dam, a friend recommended this free little park instead~
Upon entering the wetland, you're greeted by dense forests, a natural oxygen bar without a doubt. The air is incredibly fresh, breathing is easy, and the trees all grow straight up🌳🌳🌳 Walking among them feels like stepping into an alternate dimension~
The trees by the water also have a particularly artistic shape, with old and twisted trunks, each growing with its own character💃 Girls wearing red dresses for photo ops will definitely stand out.
You can also take a boat ride through the little forest, with an atmosphere that perfectly sets the fairy-tale mood🧚♀️ making you feel like a sprite in the woods🧝
There are mushrooms🍄 around to pick and play with, but don't eat them, be careful not to see the 'little people'~~~
All in all, I feel that the Laoyuhe Wetland is a very special presence by the Dianchi Lake, a very conscientious free attraction, and it feels great~
PS: There is a small path to the south that leads on foot to 【Haiyan Village】, where you can stroll through the quaint fishing village's blue brick streets, chat with the locals, and at the end, you'll see the famous 【Internet Celebrity Beach】, an excellent spot to watch the sunset!
Half-day tour route recommendation in Kunming: 【Laoyuhe Wetland Park】→【Liu Lanxiang's Yunnan Flavor Kitchen】→【Haiyan Village】→【Internet Celebrity Beach】, highly recommend this route!

If you only have one day in Kunming, you must visit this hidden gem of a park by Dianchi Lake.
Located on Huanhu East Road in the Dianchi National Tourist Resort, Kunming, Yunnan Province, Lvyuhe National Wetland Park covers an area of 734.31 hectares. It is a wetland park that has been upgraded to balance ecological and landscape functions. In recent years, with the continuous advancement of the ecological restoration project of Dianchi Lake, Lvyuhe Wetland has become a green barrier for the lakeside ecology of Dianchi Lake. The park is open to the public for free and is a great place for citizens to relax on weekends. Every winter, the large area of water pine trees gradually turns blue, and the blue sky of Kunming is truly beautiful. It's a great place for photography. If you like photography, you must visit this place when you come to Kunming this season.

Third time in Kunming, and these places in Dianchi Lake are really beautiful.
Kunming in winter is really beautiful to the next level❗️In Dianchi Lake, little elves fly all over the sky, performing romance from Siberia, and the large metasequoia forest, colorful tulips, and the beautiful sunset by the sea...
"Dianchi Lake Tour Route"
Haigeng Dam → Haihong Wetland Park → Wangguan Wetland Park → Laoyuhe Wetland Park → South Bank Beach Theme Park
"Dianchi Lake Highlights"
Haigeng Dam:
Not recommended to see seagulls at Haigeng Dam, it is really crowded, go directly to the Xishan Cableway next to it, you can overlook the Dianchi Lake, go down to Hubin Road to take pictures, it feels like a little Hong Kong~
Haihong Wetland Park:
⚠️The place with the most seagulls in Kunming! The extent of the horror can be described as "horrible". If you want to take pictures of seagulls, it is recommended here. At 18:00, there are staff feeding seagulls, which will explode. They hover densely on the edge of Dianchi Lake.
Wangguan Wetland Park:
Lavender and cherry blossoms by the lake, the photos are so romantic, and there are so few people, there are no seagulls in Wangguan, the color of the lake is very blue! If you want to take pictures of lavender and sunset, come here.
Laoyuhe Wetland Park:
1 million tulip flower sea, super large metasequoia forest, you can take beautiful backlit sunset, all here, there are more people, it is recommended to go later, it is suitable to arrive around 18:30, people will slowly become less, very suitable for taking sunset
South Bank Beach Theme Park:
An island like a whale, the lake here is super blue, flocks of seagulls are flying in the blue sky, and there is an oil painting-like metasequoia forest next to it, as if walking into a fairy tale world, very suitable for "parent-child travel"

"Kunming Laoyuhe Wetland Park: A Fusion of Nature and Poetry."
In the charming city of Kunming, Laoyuhe Wetland Park is like a green dreamland, exuding a unique charm that attracts countless visitors to explore its endless beauty.
Upon entering Laoyuhe Wetland Park, you will be amazed by the vast forests of dawn redwoods. Especially in autumn and winter, the dawn redwoods are like a palette of nature, dyed with brilliant colors. The originally green branches and leaves gradually turn orange-red and golden yellow, standing straight in the water like rows of guards in splendid attire, guarding the wetland. Sunlight filters through the gaps in the branches and leaves, casting dappled shadows on the ground and water, creating a dreamlike atmosphere that makes you feel like you've stepped into a fairy tale world, reluctant to leave.
Walking along the winding wooden boardwalk, you can see the clear river flowing beneath your feet, with small fish swimming freely and water plants swaying gently with the current, creating a vibrant underwater scene. On both sides of the boardwalk, various wetland plants grow vigorously, such as calamus and reeds, swaying gracefully in the wind, whispering secrets of the wetland. The white reed flowers, like snow, scatter in the wind like soft feathers, adding a touch of romance and poetry to the park.
The sea of flowers in the park is also a highlight. Different flowers bloom in different seasons. In spring, tulips compete for beauty, with red like fire, pink like clouds, and white like snow, decorating the land like colorful brocade. When the breeze blows, the flowers nod gently, as if warmly welcoming passing visitors. People stroll among them, taking photos and smiling happily, immersed in the sea of flowers.
Laoyuhe Wetland Park is also a habitat for many birds. You can often see egrets standing gracefully on the shoals, foraging, or soaring across the blue sky, leaving a beautiful arc. There are also unknown small birds hopping and chirping in the woods, making the park more vibrant. Their presence adds a lively atmosphere to the wetland, allowing people to feel the harmony and inclusiveness of nature.
Here, whether you are leisurely strolling and enjoying the scenery, cycling through every corner, or having a pleasant picnic with your family, you can forget the troubles and fatigue of life and fully enjoy the tranquility and beauty of nature. Kunming Laoyuhe Wetland Park, like an oasis in the city, leaves a deep impression on every visitor with its natural beauty and ecological charm, becoming an unforgettable poetic corner in everyone's heart.

Kunming is finally more than just a transfer station in autumn and winter.
Every time I go to Yunnan, whether by car or high-speed rail, I always seem to transfer in Kunming.
I always worry: Besides Cuihu Park and Dounan Flower Market, what else is there to do in Kunming? After all, Kunming is always "ding ding dong dong" with road construction.
Compared to Dali, Midu, and Pu'er, it is very noisy!
But when you go to Kunming in autumn and winter, it is simply amazing.
Feeding seagulls and watching the sunset at Laoyuhe River is really great!
Although Haigeng Dam is also beautiful, there are more people there.
Laoyuhe Wetland Park is really highly recommended!
Friends going to Kunming must not miss it.
Here are some practical tips from a Chengdu kid who goes to Laoyuhe Wetland Park three times a year!
1️⃣ Transportation: Taking a taxi is very convenient, and there are direct buses from the city. Shared bikes are not recommended! They are likely to be out of power! Recommended: Take a taxi there and take a bus back. If you drive, ignore this, as there will be traffic jams on the way back at sunset.
2️⃣ Be sure to wear a coat! Wear a nice hat! The wind will give you a headache!
3️⃣ Every year during this period, a tulip exhibition is held, and tickets are only CNY 10. It is a good time to take photos!
4️⃣ Boating in the cedar forest! Boating in the cedar forest is really cool!
5️⃣ There is also a children's play area! If you have kids, you don't have to worry about them getting bored.
6️⃣ The park is huge, and the surrounding area is connected to several wetlands, so you can't play enough in one day! It is recommended to go in the morning to see the seagulls, as there are very few people! The seagulls will fly around you! People start coming at noon, and the peak time is at sunset.
7️⃣ Starch sausage CNY 10/3 pieces, seagull food CNY 10/bag.
Of course, there are other foods!

A hidden gem, Laoyuhe Wetland Park.
Laoyuhe Wetland Park is located on the east bank of Dianchi Lake, consisting of Laoyuhe River, the forest belt along the shore of Dianchi Lake, marshes, and part of the water body of Dianchi Lake. It covers an area of about 800 mu, with a wetland rate of 75%, and is known as the "Lung of Dianchi Lake".
🛣Transportation: Self-driving/taxi/bus
Bus: Buses to Haihong Wetland Park are hard to wait for. Take Bus 222 and get off at Zhonghe Village, then walk about 50 meters. Take Bus K31 and C86 and get off at Laoyuhe Wetland Park. When you return, there will be many drivers picking up passengers at the entrance of the scenic area, or you can take a taxi yourself, and the price is about the same.
Tickets: Free
🔅Attractions:
Metasequoia Forest: In the evening, the sunlight penetrates the forest and forms light and shadow, and the Metasequoia Forest looks like the Emerald City in a fairy tale world. You can see visible particles in the air dancing in the sunlight.
Clothing suggestions: When visiting in winter, it may feel cooler in the Metasequoia Forest, so it is recommended to wear warm clothing.
🌟Special activities
Giant Pumpkin Art Kingdom: There is a special "Giant Pumpkin Art Kingdom" in Laoyuhe Wetland Park, which is very suitable for visitors who like photography and artistic creation. If you plan to visit, it is recommended to allow enough time for sightseeing and photography.
💢Notes
Plan ahead: Considering that Laoyuhe Wetland Park is far from the city, it is recommended to plan your trip in advance to avoid affecting your travel experience due to traffic problems.
Environmental protection: When playing, please respect the natural environment, do not litter, and protect the ecological balance of the wetland.

The meaning of live photos | Kunming Laoyuhe Park.
| Kunming Laoyuhe Park. Who said Kunming is only suitable as a transit station? You must spend an afternoon at Laoyuhe Park when you come to Kunming. ☑
I went to the park because I lived near Dounan Flower Market. There are many flowers of various types at very affordable prices. Three bunches only cost CNY 35 (I really envy the people of Yunnan, who love flowers so much).
You can take a taxi to Laoyuhe Park after 4:00 pm (CNY 20). There are many taxis at that time, and the price is relatively cheap. It will be more expensive if you return late. There were many cars at the entrance when I came out after 7:00 pm. We didn't take the minibus, but shared a car with two girls on the roadside (I feel that girls are really nice).
The tulip exhibition (photos 9–10) is right at the entrance, and it costs CNY 20 per person. I think it's just so-so. The sun is very strong, and it's very hot. I recommend going to Cuihu Park to see tulips (try to go in the morning, otherwise there will be a lot of people).
The transparent boat in the water forest, which many people recommend, is also here, but I don't recommend it! The water is very dirty, and the photos are all post-processed. However, you can take a break here, and there are many small shops. ▲ After 5:30 pm, you can buy three grilled sausages for CNY 10!
I was a little disappointed after seeing the water forest, but I still went to the beach (you can see Laoyuhe Park by navigating to the beach), which is the place in the photo. I also met a guy playing guitar, and I found out later that he was Huo Huo!
Outfit suggestions:
White dress, red dress, or various fairy dresses with sunglasses
Ethnic-style clothes, coats, shawls, and knitted triangular scarves (they look very rustic, but they are very photogenic)
!! The wind is really strong, and you will be blown away if you go early.
!! The sunset is around 6:30–7:30 pm.
!! If you bring flowers, remember to bring a flower root. Sometimes the root is very long, and the sand is very hard.
!! Bring sunglasses, otherwise it will be very dazzling, especially when the sun shines on the water.
! Some friends went to Haiyan Village, but I don't recommend it. The sunset is not as good as Laoyuhe Park!

The upcoming seagull season in Kunming is a great time to take your kids on a 3-day, 2-night trip!
Starting in November each year,
flocks of seagulls arrive as expected,
and the redwood trees by Dianchi Lake are as stunning as an oil painting.
In early January, you can also see early cherry blossoms. 🌸 Kunming can be very romantic.
Don't miss the chance to interact with tiger cubs and lemurs at the wildlife park with your kids.
.
🗺️3-day, 2-night itinerary🔽
DAY❶ Guangzhou→Kunming→Haihong Wetland Park
DAY❷ Kunming Wildlife Park
DAY❸ Cherry blossom viewing at Yunnan University→Laoyu River Wetland Park→Dali
.
🔸Haihong Wetland Park:
There are many parks where you can feed seagulls, but I like this one because it has a great spot for feeding seagulls and taking photos. Compared to the crowded and fenced-off Haigeng Dam, I prefer the company of redwood trees 🌲 here. The scene of flocks of seagulls flying in the sunset is truly breathtaking.
🔸Laoyu River Wetland Park
The redwood forest here is more spectacular than that in Haihong Wetland Park, and the glass boat experience here is also worth trying. I especially like the sunset here, with the afterglow of the setting sun shimmering on the lake. There are no fences here, allowing you to get closer to the seagulls and nature.
🔸Kunming Wildlife Park
If you want to take your kids to get close to animals, don't miss this wildlife park. Here, you can touch tiger cubs 🐅 (you can ask in advance if there are any tiger cubs available for interaction), interact with lemurs, feed red pandas, and see the animals from picture books up close.
🔸Yunnan University
January is the cherry blossom season. The cherry blossoms on the Chenggong campus are truly stunning! The romantic scene of cherry blossom petals falling in the breeze makes me envy the students studying there.

❤️Tips:
✅Seagull tips:
If you must go to Haigeng Dam, I suggest going early in the morning, as there are people feeding the seagulls there, and if you arrive late, many seagulls will already be full and won't eat. If you're going to Haihong Wetland or Laoyu River Wetland, you can arrive before sunset. Prepare some bread 🍞 in advance, as it is easier to feed the seagulls than seagull food. I suggest wearing a hat when feeding them, or you might get pooped on. 💩
✅The temperature in Kunming varies greatly between morning and evening, so dress accordingly.

Kunming Laoyuhe Wetland Park: A dreamland where the orange sea meets seagulls.
Kunming, a city of eternal spring, has a hidden gem that you must visit—Laoyuhe Wetland Park. The scenery there is absolutely stunning, like a fairyland on earth.
If you miss the sunset at Laoyuhe Wetland Park when you visit Kunming, it would be a great pity. When the sun sets, flocks of seagulls dance with the waves, like the elves of the sea, free and unrestrained. The withered trees on the shore add a touch of desolation in the afterglow, contrasting with the brilliant sunset like an orange sea and the lively seagulls, creating a picture full of destiny and atmosphere, each glance is like appreciating a masterpiece of art.
📍Park address: Laoyuhe Wetland Park. Admission is free, which is very friendly!
🚌Transportation: Take Line 4 to Xiangfeng Street, and then take a taxi or ride a shared bike. I took a bus after visiting Dounan Flower Market, and arrived at around 5 pm, just in time for the sunset. However, if you want more time, you can arrive at around 4 pm and take pictures of the beautiful red cedar trees first. They are dazzling red in the sunlight, and look amazing in both close-up and long shots.
⚠️Here's a little tip: there may be some small twists and turns on the way back after watching the sunset. There may be no buses to the subway station, and it may be difficult to get a taxi. But don't worry, there will be vans to the subway station, which usually leave when full, and are very convenient.
🧡Travel tips:
1. Be sure to bring warm clothes, as the temperature drops quickly after sunset, and keeping warm is important, otherwise, the cold will affect your mood.
2. The park has a long coastline, so even if there are many people, you can still find a suitable angle to take beautiful photos. You can walk along the coastline and you may find some unique shooting spots.
3. It is important to check the sunset time and plan your itinerary in advance so that you can fully enjoy this beautiful time.
In addition to Laoyuhe Wetland Park, there are many other places worth visiting in Kunming. For example, Dianchi Lake is also a great place to watch seagulls, and you can take a boat to get a closer look at the vastness of the lake. There are many snack stalls around, where you can try Yunnan's special roasted milk fan, which is sweet and delicious, and tofu rice noodles, which combine the tenderness of tofu and the chewiness of rice noodles perfectly, full of flavor. Green Lake Park is also nice, with a quiet environment and many authentic Kunming restaurants around, where you can taste authentic Yiliang roast duck, with crispy skin and tender meat, full of aroma. These places will let you experience the unique charm of Kunming, so come and start your Kunming journey!

Kunming Laoyuhe - Enjoy leisure time.
Kunming Laoyuhe National Wetland Park is located on Huanhu East Road, Kunming Dianchi National Tourism Resort, Yunnan Province, with a total area of 734.31 hectares. This park is a wetland park that has been upgraded and transformed, taking into account both ecological and landscape functions. In recent years, with the continuous advancement of the Dianchi Lake ecological restoration project, it has become a green barrier for the Dianchi Lake coastal ecology and a good place for citizens to relax on weekends.
The park is located in Zhonghe Village, Huanhu East Road, Chenggong District, Kunming City. The opening hours are 08:30-18:00 every day of the year. The park has planted a variety of tulips imported from the Netherlands, including 11 varieties such as Vilandi, Review, and Flame. The park has attractions such as flower sea, beach, water forest, viewing corridor, science square, bicycle lane, lotus pond, greenhouse science park, and farming experience park.
The development and changes of Laoyuhe Wetland Park are a microcosm of the continuous improvement of the ecological environment around Dianchi Lake. This park has become an environmental protection-type ecological wetland park integrating the protection and restoration of the Dianchi Lake coastal wetland system, water quality purification, science popularization and education, leisure and recreation, and tourism supporting services. It is known as the "Lung of Dianhai".
In addition, Laoyuhe is a river flowing out of Songmao Reservoir, originated from Chengjiang, converged into Songmao Reservoir, and then flowed out, crossing Wujiaying and Yuhua Street in Chenggong District, and finally entered Dianchi Lake.

Kunming Laoyuhe: A "lakeside gallery" for playing with water, fishing, and photography.
Although I am from Kunming, this is my first time to Laoyuhe Wetland Park. It is located on the east bank of Dianchi Lake, about 18 kilometers away from Kunming. It is generally a popular destination for families or multiple families to drive to. However, in order to provide out-of-province tourists with the experience of independent travel, I took the subway to University City Station, and then transferred to Bus 265 and got off at Laoyuhe Station.
Laoyuhe Wetland Park is close to Dianchi Lake. "Dianchi Lake is as wide as the sea" (Guo Moruo). Looking at the 500-mile Dianchi Lake, people's mood will naturally blend into nature. The park is currently hosting a giant South Claw Art Kingdom Exhibition (see Figures 2, 3, 4).
Laoyuhe is a paradise for teenagers and children. Under the care of adults, they roll up their trouser legs and play by the Dianchi Lake, or fish, or pile up sand, or play with water guns, and enjoy the fun by the water. We didn't have so many playgrounds when we were young.
Laoyuhe Park is a lakeside wetland with zero distance to Dianchi Lake, a tourist hotspot. Taking photos in Laoyuhe is regarded as a "street sweeping" shooting method. Handsome men and beautiful women can be seen everywhere by the lake, becoming natural models and portrait photography experimental fields for photographers. I took some snapshots and "stole" some beautiful women with good temperament. I think as long as the photos are good, they won't mind.
Laoyuhe Park is one of the best places to watch the sunset on the east bank of Dianchi Lake in Kunming. The weather in Kunming was really good on October 6. Everyone was waiting by the lake and taking pictures of the sunset. They were reluctant to leave until it was dark... (Generally, admission to the park is free, and there are flower and other exhibitions. Tickets are required for the exhibition area.)

It has beach which is the shore of dianchi lake. In winter there are lots of seagulls.

Boating——Crystal Boat
🚣Location:
It is closer to enter from the small square gate, the north gate, in the water forest area near the main square
If you enter from the main square, walk along the right-hand side after entering the gate, pass two amusement parks + insect exhibition hall, and turn left at the fork with small shops
💰Charges:
Double boat 60 yuan/hour; triple boat 70 yuan/hour; children's boat 35 yuan/hour
Children's boats and other boats are separated, with a dedicated area
Recommendation: 🌟⭐⭐
Originally, I didn't really want to row, I had rowed in Haihong Wetland Park before, but the child liked it, so we rowed
🌲When you reach the Metasequoia forest and look up, you will still be shocked and feel healed
Choose according to your needs~ Personally, I don't think it's a must-do in this park, but it's nice to experience it if you haven't tried it
·
Cycling
🚲Location:
At the entrance, nowhere else
💰Charges:
Scan the code on the bike to pay the deposit, 30 yuan/hour for a single row; 50 yuan/hour for a double row
I saw some people riding triple rows, which are relatively rare, and I didn't see the price
Recommendation: 🌟⭐⭐⭐⭐
The cycling route is very long! The park is very big! The scenery is beautiful!
In other parks, you can only ride a short distance, so since you're here, why not ride?
The only downside is that you can't walk on the boardwalk, you need to temporarily park on the main road
·
About Fishing
Highly not recommended❌
I specifically checked the history, the name "Laoyu" comes from ancient times because it was an inlet river, and during the flood season⚠there were many fish and shrimp
So actually, there are not many fish now! After the ecological environment changed, there are not many even during the flood season
Moreover, there are signs in the park prohibiting fishing! Unfortunately, there are management loopholes, and there are many unscrupulous vendors selling nets at the entrance, so everyone is still enthusiastically carrying buckets and nets to fish~ it's all small fry
I hope everyone who sees this article can visit the park with the right mindset~ don't fish anymore~

Kunming Two-Day Itinerary
Our trip was mainly to visit Shangri-La and Dali, initially thinking of Kunming as just a quick layover. But we found Kunming to be exceptionally fun🥹
We went out for dinner shortly after landing in the afternoon and checking into our hotel. We dined at the Border Canteen, which was really, really good; each dish was around 10 yuan on average, and the two of us ordered a large portion for just over 40 yuan. It was both affordable and delicious. After dinner, we visited the old streets of Kunming and the nearby Jinma Biji Square. There are many snacks on the old streets of Kunming, and compared to many tourist areas, the prices are quite cheap.
The next morning, we went to the Haigeng Dam. My goodness, this place has more seagulls than people. But it's really super photogenic, and there are many aunties there offering to take photos, but we didn't ask any because we had no money😩 If you think there are too many people, you can keep walking forward; the further you go, the fewer people there are.
We had lunch at the Shui Lu Ecological Museum. This place was also very crowded; we went there around 1 PM and had to queue for about half an hour. But their food is also very, very delicious. You must try the water fern vegetable and yellow throat!!! It's absolutely amazing. I fell in love with Yunnan cuisine; it's really, really good.
In the afternoon, we went to the Laoyuhe Wetland Park. This park is a bit far from the city center; it took us about an hour to get there by taxi. But the scenery there is truly unbeatable, my friends. You must go when the sun is about to set. The sunset in Kunming is quite late, around 7 to 7:30 PM🌅
In conclusion, Kunming is really a great city with a nice climate, low cost of living, delicious food, and a pleasant environment.

Visitors to Laoyuhe Wetland Park can enjoy walking along wooden boardwalks and trails that meander through the wetlands, offering opportunities to observe the local flora and fauna. The park is particularly popular among birdwatchers, as it attracts numerous migratory birds during the winter months.
Additionally, the park features observation towers and platforms where visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the wetlands and surrounding landscapes. It's a peaceful and serene destination where visitors can immerse themselves in nature and escape the urban hustle and bustle of Kunming.

The Laoyuhe Wetland Park is a place with few people and beautiful scenery
Visiting the Haigeng Dam to feed seagulls in winter is a must-do for many tourists in Kunming. If you don't like the sight of people's heads flying with the seagulls, then go to Laoyuhe Wetland Park.
There are no railings, so you can get infinitely close to the water. Seagulls skim over the water surface non-stop, and when someone feeds them, they flock and circle around people to eat.
Away from the water, there are few visitors. You can walk and stop as you like under the sunshine. The water redwoods are golden under the sunlight, and the sunlight casts mottled shadows through the branches, as if this scenery belongs to you alone. Occasionally, visitors paddle transparent boats among the shadows of the water redwoods, and then you hear the slight sound of water, with the light and shadow shaking and following the boat.
According to the introduction, the park also has a tulip exhibition🌷 every February. Unfortunately, we didn't go at the right time, but seeing the colorful water redwoods is also absolutely beautiful.
There is a large parking lot at the entrance of the park, which costs 10 yuan, and there is no admission fee. It is convenient for both self-driving and public transportation.

Kunming Laoyu River Wetland Park | A Great Place to Enjoy 1 Million Tulips! (With Guide)
Kunming Tulip Appreciation Tour! Next to Dianchi Lake, Laoyu River Wetland Park is home to a sea of 1 million tulip flowers, offering a picturesque and beautiful scenery. If you love flower viewing, you definitely shouldn't miss this.
After visiting the Green Lake Park in the city center and admiring the beautiful scenery of 200,000 tulips, I heard that Laoyu River Wetland Park by Dianchi Lake is also in full bloom with 1 million tulips. So, an impromptu Laoyu River flower viewing trip began.
🌷 Tulip Exhibition:
✅ This exhibition is the ninth tulip exhibition at Laoyu River Wetland Park. The exhibition is set on the right side of the main entrance of Laoyu River Park, covering an area of nearly fifteen acres. As you enter, you are greeted by a vast sea of tulips, truly a picturesque and beautiful landscape.
✅ The tulip exhibition features high-quality bulbs imported from the Netherlands, with nearly 1 million tulips of 22 varieties planted. The flowering period is divided into early, middle, and late stages, with common colors such as red, pink, yellow, white, and bi-colors, including classic and new varieties such as 'Conception's Mark', 'Flying Dragon', 'Yellow Hydrangea', 'Mermaid Island', and 'Burgundy Lace' with single, double, and fringed petals.
✅ Single-petaled tulips are simple and elegant with beautiful colors; double-petaled tulips are plump and bright; fringed tulips are unique and distinctive.
✅ Unlike previous years' tulip exhibitions, this year's exhibition, in the Year of the Dragon, is planted according to the different colors, flowering periods, and plant heights of the tulip varieties, ensuring a reasonable mix of plants to achieve staggered heights and orderly flowering, extending the overall viewing period.
✅ Entering the tulip exhibition area from the entrance, the tulips under the warm sun of the Spring City show their unique charm and rhythm, as well as their vigorous vitality. The tulip scenery is so beautiful that it's irresistible, and for tourists who love flowers and photography, this is a great spot for you to check in.
🚩 Address & Transportation:
🏞️ Address: Laoyu River Wetland Park is located next to Dianchi Lake, right by the Huanhu East Road in Chenggong District, Kunming.
🚗 Transportation: It's about 40 kilometers from Kunming's main urban area to Laoyu River Wetland Park by car.
🚌 Public Transport: You can take Kunming Metro Line 1 to Daxuecheng South Station, then take bus 222 to Zhonghe Village Station, and walk 40 meters to reach the destination.
📌 Practical Tips:
◆ Since Laoyu River Wetland Park is quite far from the city center, it's recommended for those who drive to Laoyu River to see the tulips to also visit nearby places to see the rapeseed flowers. For example: the thousand-acre rapeseed flowers in Jiangwei Village of Chenggong, the rapeseed flowers and ancient village of Wolong Ancient Fishing Village, and the rapeseed flowers and green train scenery of Shadi Village.
◆ For tourists who love travel photography, it's recommended to go early in the morning when the light is soft for better photo effects.
◆ For a spring flower viewing trip in Kunming, there are also places like Green Lake Tulips and the 'Yuantong Cherry Tide' at Yuantong Mountain Zoo.
