The best place to enjoy the view in Qingdao is Xiaoyushan Park! ⭐️
We went there early in the morning at 8:30 AM, and it was great because there weren't many people around! Although there is usually an entrance fee and you need to scan a QR code to enter, we got in for free! ❤️
The view of Qingdao from the Xiaoyushan Observatory was truly beautiful. The houses with red roofs and beige walls lined up made it feel like we were in Europe, not China. 👍

I love overlooking Qingdao from a high place, it's beautiful no matter how you look at it.
Fushan Road has some celebrity residences and popular spots. Visiting in the morning is definitely a good choice, as there aren't many people and the time is relatively leisurely.
Xiaoyushan Park is right on Fushan Road. Since you're here, even though you've seen many parks on this trip, seeing one more won't hurt.
The difficulty of climbing mountains on the Jiaodong Peninsula can be completely ignored, but the view from the top is breathtaking. Looking out over Qingdao's unique red tiles, green trees, blue sea, blue sky, and long coastline is so poetic. The beach may seem ordinary up close, but when you see it from the Guanchao Pavilion, it's a completely different feeling. In short, I was amazed.
Opposite is Signal Hill Park, and with a telephoto lens, I can see many tourists on the viewing platform over there.
As a coffee lover, I always pay attention to whether there are coffee shops to rest and cool off at each place I visit. Xiaoyushan Park has two coffee shops. The one at the entrance, called Era Coffee, is very nostalgic, and many TV shows have been filmed there, making it a true internet-famous spot. The other is inside the park. I saw it when I passed by but didn't go in, so I didn't take any photos.
Qingdao has already entered the tourist season, and almost every attraction is crowded with tourists.

Without visiting Qingdao, how could one know its beauty! Once you arrive in Qingdao, all the beauty is in your eyes.
First is the pleasant climate. In mid-June, it's already high summer. Coming from the south of the Yangtze River, where the highest temperature has exceeded 30 degrees for several days, and I heard that in Beijing further north, the temperature has already surpassed 35 degrees, which is so hot that one would not want to go out. However, Qingdao's recent highest temperature is only around 25 degrees, and wearing short sleeves in the morning or evening feels cool. The warm temperate maritime climate makes Qingdao rarely suffer from extreme heat even in the hottest summer, thus becoming a famous summer retreat.
Blue sky and sea, red tiles and green trees are the most characteristic beauty of Qingdao. Qingdao has many distinctive scenic spots, such as viewing from Little Fish Hill and Signal Hill, checking in at the Love Tree on Wheat Island, watching the sunset at the First Bathing Beach, and enjoying the night view at the May Fourth Square, etc. Here, no matter where you go, you can either see the blue sky or the sea. If you stand on a high place like Signal Hill, you can see all the beautiful scenery of blue sky, sea, red tiles, and green trees. After enjoying the view, immersed in it, there is nothing to say but a sigh of admiration.
Of course, when you come to Qingdao, you can't miss the delicious food. As a coastal city, seafood is the first choice, which is tasty and affordable, and can be found everywhere, paired with a variety of Qingdao beer, which is indeed refreshing (in summer).
On a midsummer night, you must go to the famous May Fourth Square. It is named 'May Fourth' because this is the birthplace of the famous May Fourth Movement. A century apart, imperial powers Germany and Japan successively occupied this place. Looking at the fiery red theme sculpture 'The Wind of May' in the center of the square, it signifies the firm belief in never bowing down, defending sovereignty, the patriotic tone of anti-imperialism and anti-feudalism, and the exuberant national strength. Now, the square is peaceful, with some people fishing by the sea, some singing and dancing on the square, some swimming and exercising by the sea... and more are tourists like me, lingering in the beautiful seaside night. I think, this beautiful sea, the happy crowd, the gleaming buildings, all of this is a wonderful scroll of life, isn't this beautiful life scene exactly what the predecessors of the May Fourth Movement hoped for? Yes, all this beauty, as they wished!

In Qingdao, this beautiful coastal city, both Signal Hill and Xiaoyushan are excellent spots to overlook the old city's architecture and the sea. However, in my heart, Xiaoyushan holds a special place that always brings me joy whenever I climb it, and I would never tire of it even after 100 visits.
Xiaoyushan is not tall, and it doesn't require much effort to climb, which is undoubtedly a blessing for us 'lazy people'. Standing at the top, you can gaze at the beautiful scenery of Qingdao, with the Zhan Bridge, Little Qingdao, Lu Xun Park, the No.1 Bathing Beach, and the Badaguan Scenic Area all in sight, as if a series of vivid paintings are unfolding before your eyes. Every casual snapshot is a stunning masterpiece.
Of course, if you have plenty of time, consider including both Signal Hill and Xiaoyushan in your itinerary. They are not far apart, and you can easily shuttle between the two peaks, experiencing different perspectives and charms.
Recommended citywalk route: Start from Signal Hill, stroll to University Road to feel the artistic atmosphere of Qingdao; then head to Xiaoyushan to enjoy the gorgeous sunset view; finally, walk along Fushan Branch Road to experience the tranquility and beauty of Qingdao.
Both Xiaoyushan and Signal Hill have no admission fee, and visitors can come and go freely. It is suggested to arrange your visit before sunset so that you can enjoy the beautiful sunset view from the top of the hill.
