Sobre nosotros

The Center for Amazonian Scientific Innovation (CINCIA) is a non profit research center committed to conducting scientific research for effective conservation and environmental management, with a focus on ecological restoration in the biodiverse Peruvian Amazon. Our team collaborates with government, conservationists, and local communities to promote sustainable land use. A significant part of our research addresses the impacts of mercury pollution and Artisanal and Small-scale Gold Mining (ASGM) on tropical ecosystems. We are dedicated to building Amazonian-based scientific capacity in young scientists, with a strong commitment to promoting women and Indigenous people in STEM careers. CINCIA strives to set a standard for large-scale reforestation and biodiversity conservation, contributing to comprehensive environmental management across the Amazon region.
