On Think Tanks

Huge congratulations to the On Think Tank On Think Tanks team for creating a much-needed space to revisit, rethink, and reinvent policy work in today’s world. As a scholar and think tank professional, I particularly enjoyed the sessions on strategic partnerships Lilia Rizk, sustainable funding practices Goran Buldioski, impactful communication David Watson, leadership & culture Sonja Stojanovic Gajic, PhD and visits to local policy institutes CIDOB (Barcelona Centre for International Affairs), Fundació Bofill, and Fundación ”la Caixa” The enthusiasm and dedication of all participants, especially the young practitioners Abirrami Gunalan, Vincent Lefebvre, Sofia Barberis Canonico, and Julia-Chiara Gruber, was truly inspirational as they reimagined these spaces in the future. Compelling conversations in the fields of security, environmental, democracy, and social/cultural policies led to meaningful connections which made Barcelona a rewarding experience. Have you realized (as I have) that there are more and more beautifully decorated posts with emojis where they must be, and so well structured, all of them with Some Section Capitalizing Every Single Word and with and ending sounding like “So, what’s next?” or “Let's continue to drive change by igniting…” AI is going all over the net, I don’t say it is a bad thing, I have used it as well for sharing content, but I have the feeling that it is homogenizing platforms which are meant to share ideas and experiences. From other side when using AI we are actually using content already produced by other authors, then maybe we should acknowledge that, right? What are tour thoughts on this matter? And how do we make that professional platforms like LinkedIn remain a tool where we can exchange ideas, share experiences, and learn from real people? 📣 Reflecting on OTT’s 2025 School for ThinkTankers! Last week marked a milestone in the transformative effort of our think tank. After securing our first grant at the end of 2024, our co-chair, Vincent Lefebvre, took part in the 2025 #SchoolforThinkTankers, organised in Barcelona by On Think Tanks. 💡 More than just a capacity-building opportunity, OTT’s initiative served as a dynamic platform to sharpen our strategic thinking, broaden our #network, and foster #dialogue among #youthvoices, while offering the ideal environment to reassess the scope of our work and renew our commitment to building the capacities of youth to shape our common future and ensure that human rights remain central to policy discussions at every level. At the School for ThinkTankers, Vincent engaged in deep, insightful dialogues with peers from the social change landscape, gathering perspectives that will drive our next phase of growth. With these fresh insights, GROW is better equipped than ever to #research and #advocate for #humanrights and nurture the next generation of policy innovators. 📢 As part of our OTT partnership, we will be organising three multi-regional events. Our first event will be organised in the context of our project ‘Safeguarding freedom of expression in France: promoting public policies in compliance with international standards’, and will look at lessons for France from non-European countries, notably in North America, Latin America, and the Pacific region.
