Last January 18, Rebisco advanced its expansion in Myanmar with a strategic visit to the Philippine Embassy in Yangon. We spent time understanding Myanmar's dynamic market together with Beyond Group of Companies, our official distributor. The visit provided an invaluable opportunity to gain deeper insight into Myanmar’s business landscape and economic trends. In a lively discussion, our delegation explored the opportunities and challenges of operating in the current evolving market. The exchange of perspectives and strategic insights concluded with a brief but warm 'salu-salo', symbolizing the meaningful ties between Rebisco, the Philippines, and Myanmar. Part of our vision is to bring quality snacks to the global stage, while building long-term relationships with our partners. With the cooperation of the Philippine Trade and Investment Center - Bangkok (the representative office of the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry in Thailand), the Philippine Embassy in Yangon expressed its commitment to supporting Filipino businesses like Rebisco, reinforcing efforts to expand market opportunities in Myanmar. The visit marked a significant step in strengthening our international partnerships and growing our global presence! 🌏

In a significant step towards supporting public school canteens across the Philippines, Rebisco was able to improve and rehabilitate more than 60 school canteens through its school canteen dress-up project from 2022 to 2024. Following this success, we further strengthened our commitment with public schools by looking into the operations of canteens specific to food safety. The school canteen is the second dining area of school children, and Rebisco believes that school canteens should have standards on food safety and quality. We introduced an inter-school competition called “The Best in Public School Canteen Practices," to promote food safety in canteens. The pilot implementation was in collaboration with the Department of Education (DepEd) Schools Division Office of Pasay City, where 28 public schools in the division were invited to participate. Moreover, to further support DepEd on school health and nutrition programs in the school canteens, Rebisco strives to develop products with fortification, by complying with the DepEd Order No. 13 s. 2017 on food product categorization. Rebisco will continue to be a key partner of DepEd in promoting nutrition and food safety in public schools. By combining infrastructure improvements and operational enhancements in public school canteens, Rebisco upholds its position as a strong partner in advancing shared goals for education. Congratulations to our teams for collaborating together to achieve this successful event! #RebiscoxDepEd

Rebisco’s Project H.A.P.A.G. completes its first distribution of 1,500 food buckets! Last January 21 and 23, the Rebisco Foundation, Inc. (RFI) started the distribution of H.A.P.A.G. (Handog Ayuda Sa Pamilya, Agapay Sa Ginhawa) buckets to chosen school communities in Laguna and Cavite. Children, accompanied by their parents or guardians, gratefully received our buckets filled with Rebisco products and other food items. The second repacking session at the Rebisco office was held last January 25, where a total of 1,905 buckets were completed. The energetic and highly driven spirit of volunteers produced more than enough buckets for the next 1,500 recipients in Valenzuela, Marilao, and Pampanga. Through Project H.A.P.A.G., families share special meals and create moments of togetherness. RFI extends its gratitude to all the scholars, parents and employees who cheerfully repacked the buckets that we will be giving away to our next batch of beneficiaries.

For Filipino families, the "Hapag Kainan" is a cherished space where they can gather together to enjoy a meal, sharing laughs and exchanging stories. Project H.A.P.A.G. (Handog Ayuda sa Pamilya, Agapay sa Ginhawa) is an annual gift-giving project by the Rebisco Foundation, Inc. (RFI). It aims to provide delightful meals for families in our plant communities, as they begin a new year together. The project also serves as an employee engagement activity where volunteers from Rebisco join scheduled repacking sessions. This year, our first Project H.A.P.A.G. repacking session was held last January 18 at the Rebisco office. Rebisco employees and scholars prepared 1,980 buckets filled with Rebisco products, exceeding the initial target of 1,500 buckets! RFI extends its sincerest gratitude to all volunteers representing various departments from the Rebisco Group of Food Companies. #LifeAtRebisco

Our warmest congratulations to Mr. Jonathan C. Ng, the head of our Rebisco family! Mr. Jonathan C. Ng, Vice Chairman and CEO of the Republic Biscuit Corporation (REBISCO) Group of Food Companies, was honored as one of 21 disruptive business leaders at this year’s Business Manual CEO Awards, held last January 27 at The Bonifacio Hall, The Fort Shangri-La. With the theme “Honoring Industry Disruptors”, the distinction was given to visionary leaders who are reshaping business landscapes, pushing boundaries, challenging the norm, and setting new standards of success. Awardees were selected from a pool of nominees with the following qualifications: Innovation, Adaptability, and Disruptive Leadership, Effective Management and Strategic Governance, Brand Influence and Recognition in their Industry, Personal Image and Credibility, and Contribution to Society. From humble beginnings, Rebisco has risen to become a company built on family moments — a well-loved snack icon and leader in the Philippine industry with a strong global presence. Under the leadership of Mr. Ng and the dedication of employees, the Rebisco Group diversified to include more companies in its food portfolio such as a dessert restaurant and local bakeshop. A trading enterprise, food packaging corporation, community retail chain, and a sports and entertainment company number among its non-food business ventures. The award is a tribute to the role of Mr. Jonathan C. Ng as a disruptive business leader who drives innovation for and within Rebisco, inspiring the next generation of entrepreneurs and leaving a positive impact through the delight of shared moments. Congratulations Mr. Ng! The whole Rebisco family is extremely proud of you. Read The Business Manual's feature on Mr. Jonathan C. Ng here: https://lnkd.in/eRa_NqGD

Last January 10, 2025, Rebisco Volleyball, through Republic Biscuit Corporation (REBISCO)'s sports and entertainment arm, Action Republic Corporation, held a media training day for its 3 professional teams, the Criss Cross King Crunchers, the Creamline Cool Smashers, and the Choco Mucho Flying Titans. I've been a part of a few media training programs before, but this one was a comprehensive seminar tailor-made for Philippine athletes, and I'm glad to have been a part of this seminar as organiser, trainer, and facilitator. We owe a lot to our agency partner, Eggshell Worldwide Communications, Inc., headed by its Managing Director, Charmaine Pahate, for holding this successful event. Deep thanks as well to our esteemed and knowledgeable speakers who shared their thoughts and advice with us: Charmaine Pahate, Managing Director of Eggshell Worldwide Communications Francis Ochoa, Inquirer Sports Editor Ria Domingo, LT Group Consultant and former VP for Marketing of PAL Isaac Saliendra, TikTok Ambassador and head of Peculiar Eyewear Boy Abunda, the King of Talk and Media Expert Last but not least, I'm thankful to be collaborating with and lucky to be a part of the Action Republic Corporation team: Pia Pasco, RM Agcopra, Ysay Marasigan, Rhean Fiecas, and Chloe Atienza. We survived, guys, haha, congratulations to us for making it through the holding of this seminar! Thanks also to Jojo and Jeric of IT who handled all the technical aspects for us!
