Hotel Okura Manila The Philippine Business and News hold THEPHILBIZNEWS Embassy Night Year-3 Members of the diplomatic, business, and media communities “celebrate global connections and collective efforts” in THEPHILBIZNEWS’s Embassy Night last April 2, 2024 at the Hotel Okura Manila. Ambassadors Constance See of Singapore, Tull Traisorat of Thailand, Dato’ Abdul Malik Melvin Castelino bin Anthony of Malaysia all extolled the growing engagements of their countries with the Philippines. Ambassador Luc Véron of the European Union, thanked the twin hosts THEPHILBIZNEWS and Hotel Okura Manila for providing “platforms like yours [that] enable us to engage in meaningful dialogue with the public we serve.” Ambassador Johann Brieger of Austria said the “cherished tradition” of Embassy Night allowed them to take “a break from our busy schedule.” He praised THEPHILBIZNEWS for being “a steadfast beacon of information, guiding its readers through the intricate landscape of business and finance in the Philippines and abroad.” Ambassador Karel Hejč of the Czech Republic praised the event as a “great way to bring media, diplomats, and other social groups and communities together. Well done indeed.” Ambassador Marielle Geraedts of The Netherlands commended THEPHILBIZNEWS for its commitment to journalistic integrity. “You have played an important part in upholding media freedom and truth-telling in the Philippines. Freedom of the press is fundamental to a free, inclusive, and informed society and must be protected across the globe,” she said. Ambassador Niyazi Evren Akyol of Turkey, which is in the middle of Asia and Europe, summarized the evening's spirit as a gathering of shared democratic values and aspirations, focusing on “the mutual commitment to fostering prosperity and understanding as well as a foreign policy based on an emphasis on peace and stability and the primacy of international law.” Ambassador Peter Kell of New Zealand expressed his heartfelt gratitude in Tagalog. “Naramdaman ko ang mainit na pagtanggap sa akin. Nakita ko ang kagandahan ng Pilipinas. Nakita ko ang kagandahan ng wikang pambansa at kabutihang loob ng mga Pilipino.
