𝐇𝐁𝐋 𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐋𝐚𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐀 𝐌𝐚𝐧 𝐖𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚 𝐏𝐞𝐧 𝐛𝐲 𝐖𝐚𝐪𝐚𝐬 𝐊𝐡𝐚𝐧 HBL hosted the Lahore launch of A Man With a Pen, the first monograph on Waqas Khan’s artistic practice in Pakistan. Following its debut at the Karachi Literature Festival, the Lahore event at HBL RHQ brought together an engaged audience to explore the creative journey of one of Pakistan’s most celebrated contemporary artists. The session, held under the Architecture, Design, Arts Awards 2024-25, featured a discussion with renowned artist Salima Hashmi and writer Zohreen Murtaza, delving into the significance of Waqas Khan’s work and the in-depth academic perspectives captured in this book. As part of its longstanding commitment to the arts, HBL has previously supported exhibition catalogs, but A Man With a Pen marks the Bank’s first published monograph. HBL's support of such projects reinforces its commitment to promote arts and foster intellectual discourse.

Yesterday we had a wonderful seminar in Lahore hosted by Beaconhouse National University (BNU) as part of the ADA Magazine awards event. The event was curated by Maria Aslam and partners, with support from Aga Khan Trust for Culture and British Council Pakistan among others. It was impressive to be there with very interesting people and also saw the master of design and art exhibition.
