The Board of Directors (BoD) of Engro Corp, one of #Pakistan’s largest conglomerates, has appointed Samad Dawood as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company. The announcement was made via a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange - PSX on Monday. Samad Dawood is a seasoned executive with over 20 years of experience in management and corporate governance. Currently, he serves as the Vice Chair of the Board of Dawood Hercules Corporation Ltd, the #investment arm of the Dawood Group. Dawood is an economics graduate from UCL, UK, and holds a certification in corporate governance from the Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance - PICG. He has played a pivotal role in several high-profile #mergers and #acquisitions (M&A) within the Dawood Group, including: 1. Acquisition of HUBCO from National Power International Holdings in 2012. 2. Sale of DH Fertilizers to Fatima Fertilizer Company in 2015. 3. Merger of Engro Foods with global dairy leader Royal FrieslandCampina. He has also served as the Chair of the Board of FrieslandCampina Engro Pakistan. In addition to his executive roles, Dawood is an active director on the boards of several organizations, including: 1. The Pakistan Business Council (PBC) 2. The Dawood Foundation 3. Karachi School of Business and Leadership (KSBL) 4. Cyan Limited 5. Dawood Lawrencepur Ltd 6. Reon Energy Limited Dawood has also held #CEO positions at Dawood Hercules Corporation Ltd and Cyan Ltd and is an active member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO). His appointment as CEO marks a new chapter for Engro Corp as it aims to strengthen its position in #Pakistan's business landscape under his #leadership.
