These ships, built for Longship, are being constructed at the GS Projects shipyard in collaboration with Groot Ship Design and Ship and Steelbuilding B.V. Designed by Damen, this Multi Cat is a powerhouse workboat with a shallow-draught hull, ideal for operations in shallow waters. With an obstacle free work deck of 200 m2, this vessel is ideal for placing equipment such as buoys, anchors, or containers. 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐃𝐌𝐂’𝐬 𝐓𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐢𝐧𝐬? Safely overcome every strong crosswind 🌬️   DMC’s Rotor Manoeuvring System (RMS) is especially developed to provide course stability on shallow inland waters, especially during challenging conditions like strong crosswinds. The RMS is a cylinder that operates based on the Magnus effect: when there is sufficient draft, the cylinder lowers from under the bow of the ship into the water. Once the cylinder starts rotating and the ship sails a sufficient speed above 6 km/h, a pressure difference is created, which results in increased thrust and improved manoeuvrability of the vessel.   Advantages: - 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗲𝘂𝘃𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: fast changeover between port and starboard. - 𝗙𝘂𝗲𝗹 𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀: increased manoeuvrability means fewer steering corrections, leading to significant fuel savings. - 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻: ideal for both new builds and retrofits of inland, shallow water vessels.   More information about this energy saving device?
