Over the past 3 days we held a workshop on computational biomolecular software tools for intermediate to advanced users in Coimbra (Portugal), as part of our Ambassador Program ➡️ bit.ly/3rqbqUE Check out the workshop program ➡️ bit.ly/49dHk83 #GROMACS #HADDOCK #PMX #BioBB #Alphafold2 ✅ The workshop was organized in collaboration with EuroHPC Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU) funded National Competence Centres for High Performance Computing of Portugal (EuroCC Portugal), France (CC-FR), Spain (EuroCC_SpainRES) and Ireland (EuroCC_Ireland). ✅ The aim of these workshops and the program as a whole is to establish stronger links with the national computational biomolecular modelling and simulation communities and bring our software tools and training to an increased number of European researchers. ✅ The hybrid (face-to-face and online) workshops are organized based on the needs of the local community and are a combination of lectures and hands-on tutorials with support provided exclusively for those present on location. ✅ If you are interested in this kind of training, look out for our next workshop which will be held 21-22 May 2025 in Bulgaria (official announcement coming soon!). ELIXIR and 🇺🇸 The National Institutes of Health National Cancer Institute (NCI) have built on their partnership with a staff exchange to facilitate knowledge sharing. 🙌 The five-month exchange, funded by ELIXIR, brought together five ELIXIR Nodes (Greece, Portugal, Spain, Belgium and the UK), the ELIXIR Hub and NCI’s Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics (DCEG). 🎯 Activities included a series of Zoom meetings, two technical webinars and the visit of Ana Teresa Freitas, ELIXIR Portugal Head of Node, to the DCEG. 📣 Last week, the Genomic Data Infrastructure (GDI) project held its General Assembly in Lisbon, Portugal. As the second year of the GDI project came to an end, important deliverables and milestones have been reached: 🔵 Understanding the data inclusion requirements that countries need to meet in the 1+MG infrastructure 🔵 Creating guidelines for a national 1+MG communications and outreach strategy for citizens & healthcare professionals 🔵 Demonstrating how #genomicdata can be accessed and analysed via the 1+MG technical infrastructure in a federated way. 🌍 The World Health Organization has issued a set of principles for the ethical collection, access, use and sharing of #humangenomicdata.
