Wow. It’s been a week since we wrapped up the first-ever edition of Crypto AI:CON - See you 2025 😘, and we're just now landing from it all, beyond grateful for the milestones we've achieved. Let's take it from the beginning.. When Tim Haldorsson and Jack Haldorsson first came up with the idea of hosting a big AI conference to close out the year, I’ll admit I was a bit nervous. After all, we’re in the middle of scaling Lunar Strategy: The Crypto Ecosystem Growth Agency & Lunar Labs Capital with a bigger team and projects. But if you know Tim and Jack, you know their ideas are always wild and visionary. The synergy between Lunar and the conference concept was too good to pass up. So, six months ago, Jack and the team went full throttle. From securing sponsors to managing logistics and marketing, they’ve been relentless in bringing this vision to life. The goal was clear: Bring projects, devs, investors, founders and KOLs together to discuss AI's future in crypto. Does AI need crypto, or does Crypto need AI? Were the questions to be answered. Partnering with DFINITY and #ICP felt natural as they’re leading the way with AI fully on-chain. As part of the ICP Hubs Network (covering Portugal and France), we wanted to go above and beyond. That’s how the idea of hosting a local Hacker House for devs came to life. Over two days, the Hacker House brought together 100+ developers, diving deep into Web3 and ICP. Massive shoutout to Tiago Loureiro, Marina Atarova, and Elodie G from our ICP HUB Portugal & ICP HUB France for leading this initiative, as well as the ICP HUB Poland team for their support. It created incredible networking opportunities, not to mention a chance for our Accelerator projects building on ICP to connect in person. Highlights? Oh, we had plenty. I really enjoyed speaking at Crypto AI:CON - See you 2025 😘 and representing Borderless.xyz's perspective on stablecoins and cross-border payments. Why is this such a trending topic? Especially in emerging markets, stablecoins hit the trifecta: (1) Improved Availability - It's significantly easier for consumers and business to hold USDC, USDT and other dollar denominated stablecoins than it is for them to get US bank accounts or multi currency accounts with access to USD. (2) Decreased Cost - Moving value across borders in the stablecoin costs a fraction in both transaction and FX costs than SWIFT and traditional correspondent banking without the currency risk (and associated cost) of holding liquidity pools across various regions. (3) Increased Speed - Transactions settle globally in seconds. Not only is this a better experience but it further decreases costs especially in areas with volatile currencies. tl;dr: it's faster, cheaper, better.
