INESC TEC - Institute for Systems and Computer Engineering, Technology and Science is an Associate Laboratory with 35 years of experience in R&D and technology transfer. Present in 6 sites in the cities of Porto, Braga and Vila Real, INESC TEC incorporates 13 R&D Centres and one Associate Unit with complementary competences, always looking to the international market. INESC TEC invests in Scientific Research and Technological Development, as well as in Advanced Training and Consulting, Technology Transfer and supports the establishment of new Technology-based Companies. INESC TEC brings together over 700 integrated researchers (about 350 PhDs), forming a robust cluster with complementary skills and with notable international presence. INESC TEC was created to act as an interface between the academic world, the world of industry and services and the public administration in Information Technologies, Telecommunications and Electronics (ITT&E). At INESC TEC, the knowledge and results generated as part of fundamental research are typically applied in technology transfer projects, always guaranteeing added and immediate social relevance. With the launching of INESC P&D BRASIL (in São Paulo, Brazil), INESC TEC has strengthened its presence worldwide, always associating Portugal to international scientific excellence. In Portugal, INESC TEC’s capacity for technological innovation has made it possible to modernise national sectors and to launch new exporting companies.

🏆 INESC TEC wins Agriculture Innovation Award 🌾 #INESCTEC, the Modular E, received the Agriculture Innovation Award 🥇, a project by Timac Agro, with Expresso as media partner. The ceremony was held in Lisbon. 🎉 🤖 The Modular-E robot can carry several tools and perform different tasks, individually or simultaneously. Professor joao Gama’s Last Lecture Today, FEP hosted the final lecture of Professor João Gama, marking his retirement after a distinguished career as a Full Professor. “Where Do We Come From? Where Are We Going?”, the lecture captivated the audience with its blend of depth and scientific insight. Reflecting on his journey and the transformative changes in his field, Professor Gama left a powerful message of innovation for the future. João Gama is a researcher at #INESCTEC and is recognized as one of the most cited researchers in the world. He currently serves as the Editor-in-Chief of JSDA – International Journal of Data Science and Analytics -, an international publication focused in data science and analytics. 👉 INESC TEC is the coordinator of a project that seeks to develop a multi-domain and cooperative system to provide information and data for a more accurate monitoring of European maritime borders. The #SEAGUARD project aims to integrate different types of sensor technology to achieve a more reliable "portrait" of border areas.
