The event brought together experts, policymakers, and practitioners to exchange knowledge on the latest forestry and agroforestry innovations, closely related to the work being done in the FOREST4EU Project. 🌲✨ 🔎 A key focus was bridging the gap between research and practice, ensuring that innovative solutions reach forest managers, landowners, and practitioners. Discussions highlighted strategies for improving knowledge transfer and the role of collaborative projects in driving sustainable change. 🌍💡 🤝 Being part of FOREST4EU, we are committed to promoting innovation and sharing best practices that support a more resilient and sustainable forestry sector. ☘️ Day 1 of the #6thForestInnovationWorkshop and mid-term conference for OptFor-EU project in Brussels was inspiring! 🌲 FOREST4EU Project was there with many passionate experts and practitioners that gathered to explore the latest innovations in forestry and agroforestry, developed by EU-funded projects and operational groups. 🔎 Yesterday, during the first day of the event, different activities were held, such as presentations, panel discussions, roundtables and breakout sessions to exchange different ideas and opinions. 📌 A central theme emerged: how to effectively translate scientific knowledge into practical solutions for farmers, forest owners, and practitioners. Participants discussed strategies for connecting research with real-world needs, ensuring sustainable innovations are shared and implemented across borders. 🤝 Synergy between science, projects, and operational groups is crucial for achieving our European targets and building a more sustainable future! 🌲 Kicking off the year with FOREST4EU in Lisbon! 🌍 Earlier this month, we participated in the final annual meeting of the FOREST4EU Project in Lisbon, Portugal. It was an incredible opportunity to reflect on achievements, discuss ongoing activities, and plan future strategies for forest innovation in Europe. The meeting featured insightful presentations, productive discussions, and a visit to a beautiful cork oak forest in the Herdade do Pinheiro. We’re proud to be part of this initiative and look forward to contributing to the next steps, including the upcoming Forest Innovation Workshop in Brussels this February.

🌲 Last week was a very productive week for the FOREST4EU Project! All the partners gathered in 📍 Lisbon, Portugal to discuss the main achievements obtained until now, and to understand what are the best strategies to reach out future objectives. 🌲 📌 On the first day of meeting, two operational groups from Portugal were presented: - #Nutrisuber (https://lnkd.in/dDu5_zg7), that aims to develope, demonstrate and disseminate the good practice knowledge regarding the use of fertilization within cork oak forests; - #Fertipinea (https://lnkd.in/dPKXyAhF), aiming to promote actions and recommendations for the fertilization of rainfed and irrigated stone pine. Then, last activities, most relevant updates and key findings of the project results were discussed. 📢 An important discussion dealt with the organization of the next Study Visits activities. 🌱 We are thrilled to share an exciting update from our ongoing collaboration within the FUTURAGRI project! 🌱 In partnership with the Universidade Lusíada - Norte, Campus Vila Nova de Famalicão and co-financed by the European Union, we have developed a series of 5 tutorial videos. Coordinated by INOVA+, these videos are designed to assist farmers and anyone interested in creating sensors, understanding the entire process, and analyzing data to address practical issues related to agricultural practices. This collaboration, particularly with the COMEGI group at Universidade Lusíada de Vila Nova de Famalicão, has been instrumental. The expertise and advanced technologies provided by the professors and researchers involved have been invaluable in producing these educational resources. 📺 The 5 tutorial videos are now available on the FUTURAGRI YouTube channel. 🌲 Forestry and agroforestry systems cover more than 47% of the Europe's total land area and are a significant part of the continent's landscape, playing a fundamental role also for its ecology and economy. 🌲 🎯 FOREST4EU Project aims to link existing Operational Groups across Europe's countries to ensure that forestry and agroforestry be strengthened to preserve ecological health and to share the knowledge of several different approaches between OGs, to reach the goal of good practices in forestry and agroforestry sector. In order to do that, obtained results have to cross national borders, and this is one of the main challenges of the project! To help reaching the above-mentioned achievements, today FOREST4EU Project took part to #ERIAFF_Annual_Conference_2024 in Seinäjoki, Finland 📍 where our coordinator Francesca Giannetti presented the project focussing on the OGs role supporting forestry and agroforestry in terms of resilience, as it is an important factor for the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), to be implemented in those countries where it is not provided for this sector. 🤝 Also Antonio Ventre and #ElisabettaGravano from Regione Toscana partecipated at the poster presentation!
