Our main entrance has become a gallery, featuring a stunning showcase of our teachers' and staff's creative talents! 🎨 To welcome students back after the mid-term break, our teachers and staff transformed our school's main entrance with an art exhibition. This showcase features a rich collection of artistic expressions, from abstract paintings and intricate drawings to unique ceramic sculptures—each piece a testament to the creative talents within our community. ➕✖️➖➗ Last week, our students took part in the first round of the Portuguese Math Olympiad! For the second consecutive year, ULIS is proudly participating in this prestigious event, which could open doors to the International Mathematics Olympiad. From 3rd grade through IB2, students are divided into several competition categories, including Mini-Olympiads for our youngest participants. Last year, our student Tianyi achieved an incredible 6th place nationally, earning a spot in the Delfos project by the University of Coimbra, where she now prepares for international competitions. Special thanks to Mr. Alan Jorge Alves do Carmo, our Physics teacher, for organizing and making this opportunity possible! 💞 Last Friday, our school held Pink Day in support of Pink October—Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Our students took the initiative to organize a bake sale, raising funds for the breast cancer support association As Rosinhas, and led various activities to 'spread pink' across the campus, including face and nail painting. We were honored to welcome the As Rosinhas team for an impactful talk on breast cancer awareness and prevention, where they shared their insights and personal stories with our community. A special thank you to Constança, one of our students, for connecting us with the association, and to our Director of Student Well-Being for supporting the students in bringing initiatives like this to life.
