About QC2: Qatar Center for Quantum Computing (QC2) is the first Qatar-based quantum research center dedicated to advancing both theoretical and experimental research across the three quantum information science domains: quantum communication, quantum computing and quantum sensing. QC2 is physically located in the state-of-the-art HBKU Research and Development Complex (RDC) in close proximity to Qatar Computing Research Institute (QCRI), Qatar Biomedical Research Institute (QBRI), and Qatar Environment and Energy Research Institute (QEERI). This strategic location not only provides QC2 with access to state-of-the-art research and laboratory infrastructure but also facilitates potential interdisciplinary collaboration opportunities in important areas such as AI, material science, and biomedicine.

Qatar Center for Quantum Computing (QC2) is thrilled to announce its participation in the upcoming Quantum.Tech Qatar 2025 conference, scheduled from January 13 to 15 at the Marsa Malaz Kempinski, The Pearl – Doha. As the first Qatar-based quantum research center, Qatar Center for Quantum Computing (QC2) is dedicated to advancing both theoretical and experimental research across the three quantum information science domains: quantum communication, quantum computing, and quantum sensing. Quantum.Tech Qatar 2025 marks the exclusive debut of this prestigious event in Doha, bringing together over 200 quantum experts to delve into the current state of quantum technology. The conference will focus on how Qatar and the Gulf region are preparing vital infrastructure, securing investment, and cultivating diverse industries for the upcoming quantum revolution. The event will feature a series of workshops and main conference sessions, including a Cryptography, Security, and AI Workshop Day on January 13, followed by two main conference days on January 14 and 15. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore the varied industrial applications of quantum technology, benchmark the industry's progress in developing quantum hardware, and learn from cutting-edge use cases presented by pioneers across multiple industries. It was an absolute privilege to hear from Dr. Yasar A. during his seminar on "Quarks and Qubits: Quantum Computing for High-Energy Physics." Dr. A. shared groundbreaking insights into how NISQ-era #quantum computers are being utilized to tackle fundamental and meaningful challenges in gauge theories, such as simulating SU(2) hadrons and the real-time evolution of SU(3) states. His work bridges the worlds of #quantum computing and high-energy physics, offering novel solutions to long-standing computational limitations in lattice gauge theories, including the sign problem and real-time dynamics. The seminar provided fascinating perspectives on leveraging quantum technologies to deepen our understanding of particle interactions and explore phenomena like tetraquarks and pentaquarks. Through this partnership, we will work closely with QC2 to advance scientific discovery in physics, materials, chemistry, and more with our quantum computers. We are bringing the commercial tipping point to quantum computing sooner than previously thought possible with our future systems. In September 2024, we unveiled our accelerated hardware roadmap which delivers a fully fault-tolerant and universal quantum computer capable of executing millions of operations on hundreds of logical qubits by the end of the decade. Our hardware roadmap uniquely enables generative AI (GenAI) to rapidly advance applications like precision drug discovery and complex data analysis, positioning us ahead of our competitors.
