Ahead of the 2024-25 football season, #TheLosAngelesTimes has released a feature on the new phase of growth of Paris Saint-Germain under the custodianship of Qatar Sports Investments, entitled: “By ditching its superstars, Paris Saint-Germain aims to achieve something greater”. With PSG fielding its youngest-ever team in history against Le Havre in the first match of Ligue 1 last week (average age 22 years old), PSG’s future is built on youth, collectivity, the very best talent and long-term sustainability. PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi said, “I was asked who will be PSG’s star this year. It’s the team, the collective team. That’s our star, that’s our strategy, that’s our future.” The feature notes that the change in strategy doesn’t signal a change in ambition. Far from it. And what it does mean, however, is spending in a different way to achieve something much greater. See link below:- https://lnkd.in/edngUqyk

Paris Saint-Germain men’s football team delivered an historic 11th French league title, while also qualifying for the UEFA Champions League knockout stages for the 12th consecutive season, along with the new FIFA Club World Cup 2025, among many other achievements across the Club’s women’s football, youth football, handball, judo and e-sports teams. In the summer, the Club proudly opened the doors to a brand new state-of-the-art and world-leading training centre in Poissy, laying the foundations for the Club for the long-term and next generations. In addition to Paris Saint-Germain breaking all commercial records and reaching a record number of fans all around the world (including over 200M followers on social media), QSI also concluded a ground-breaking investment agreement and strategic partnership to take the Club to the next level, welcoming a new minority shareholder Arctos into the Paris Saint-Germain family. In Portugal, SC Braga excelled domestically and returned to the pinnacle of European football, qualifying for the UEFA Champions League; while also inaugurating the second phase of the world-class Cidade Desportiva sporting facility. These achievements are testament to the long-term sporting vision and operating excellence of the Club. Within the world’s fastest growing sport of padel, QSI’s acquisition of the World Padel Tour unified the professional game under Premier Padel, which announced the expansion of its global calendar, and proudly welcomed female professionals to the tour. 2024 is set to be a year of continued growth, ambition and achievement, both on and off the field of play. Qatar Sports Investments is dedicated to further expanding its portfolio of worldwide sports investments, and to positively contributing to the communities in which its operations support. Wishing all our partners, and everyone in sport, a very happy new year.
