Do you know what Social Innovation in Security means? 🤔🔍 As part of the #COSECUR project, we're co-creating a Societal Development Plan (SDP) that outlines social innovation in security across Europe, integrates best practices, and provides concrete, actionable recommendations. 🔎 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 (𝐒𝐈𝐒): Practices and processes involving social, economic, technological, governance and/or policy innovations based on human needs to improve people's security. These solutions should be: ✅ Innovative ✅ Transferable and scalable – adaptable and expandable across different contexts and sectors. ✅ Co-created – developed through participatory processes and a multidisciplinary lens, ensuring diverse perspectives shape the outcome. 🔎 What is security, and why does it matter? 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 has been defined as “the condition of being protected from or not exposed to danger; a feeling of safety or freedom from risk.” It is a fundamental right that supports a stable and prosperous society. 🔵 Good internal security means that the population can enjoy the rights and freedoms guaranteed by the legal system without fear or insecurity caused by crime, disorder, accidents and national or international phenomena. 🔹 CO-SECUR is a #HorizonEurope project that aims to enhance security perception and behavior in public spaces, particularly at large events and crowded areas. Sharing some fresh pictures from today's session on "Unleashing the innovation potential of public transport", where Lucia Cristea showcased the work that is being done in the SPINE project, where EIP is leading exploitation, communication & dissemination activities. The session featured sister-project UPPER Project EU as well, - presented by Mircea Florin Steriu and a very interesting panel discussion with Yannick Bousse & Françoise Guaspare! This week the EIP team is in #Parma, for the #CivitasForum2024! Very excited to get inspired by the sessions planned but also to put on our SPINE representatives' hats and help disseminate the project’s objectives and progress - every day @ the SPINE booth alongside many other project partners. We are also excited to connect with colleagues from both current and past projects and to learn more about other CIVITAS projects! #CF2024 #MobilityInnovation #MobilityRenaissance

This week we participated in the PIONEERS Ports #GeneralAssembly in #Venlo, where we discussed the steps that the #ports in the project are taking towards greening, formulating a Green Port Master Plan & engaging with stakeholders within the scope of achieving all this! It was a very interesting and insightful 3 days which highlighted the enormous amount of work and effort being undertaken in the project! Thank you to Gemeente Venlo & Peter Van Wijlick for being such wonderful hosts. Let’s keep on #PIONEERING! ✌
