On Feb 27, 2025, in partnership with UNICEF Rwanda, RBC, MINALOC, MINEMA, and NCDA, HEZA Initiative Kicked off the #ImenaProgram in Ninzi Cell, Kagano Sector during Umugoroba w’Umuryango. Engaging 48 frontline functionaries & 100+ families, we introduced six key health behaviors, including #OneEggperChildEveryday. We will support continuous monitoring and mentorship for sustainability. Together, Lat us build a healthier community!

The past two days, in partnership with #RBCRwanda, UNICEF Rwanda, #RwandaLocalGov and #Rwanda_Child. We conducted a workshop on #IMENA Program for our field staff who will support M&E and mentorship for frontline workers who were trained on 5 key behaviors with #RBCRwanda and UNICEF Rwanda as well. Those five key behaviors we will be working on are, Sustainable graduation from poverty, Antenatal care, Multi-hazard Preparedness, One Egg Per child Per day/ Complimentary feeding, and Hygiene & sanitation.

I am happy to lead a dynamic Field staffs of HEZA Initiative who are going to support #IMENA program of UNICEF Rwanda #RBCRwanda, #RwandaLocalGov , #Rwanda_Child and other partners. The program aims to make M&E and mentorship to the recently trained frontline functionaries from the district to the villages.

🎉 Launching the “One Egg a Day” Program in Karongi! 🥚 Earlier this summer, we screened over 37,000 women for cervical and breast cancer in the Karongi region. While many received good news, some, unfortunately, are now facing a cancer diagnosis. This program is for them—providing vital nutrition and fostering social connection, both essential for their recovery journey. Following the success of our pilot in Gicumbi district last year—where it made a tangible difference in the lives of women recovering from cancer—we’re excited to expand this initiative to Karongi. The program not only offers daily nutrition—one egg a day—but also symbolizes care, hope, and resilience, ensuring women and their families feel supported every step of the way. A huge thank you to our incredible partners, HEZA Initiative and ACREOL Global whose collaboration and dedication made this vision a reality. I also want to commend the local leaders, volunteers, and community members who have stepped forward to make this program a success. We’re proud of what we’ve achieved together, and we know this is only the beginning. 🌟 Here’s to transforming lives, one egg at a time. 📢 Exciting news! Yesterday, we HEZA Initiative in partnership with #RBCRwanda, Elekta Foundation , ACREOL Center , and #Karongi District, we launched the #OneEggADay project! 🥚 For the next 3 months, we'll support women with cancer in overcoming chemotherapy’s nutritional challenges while also aiding their children at risk of malnutrition. The project also provides mental health support through psychology & counseling. Thank you Lacy Hubbard, MBA , Cornilla von Plomgren for join us. In 2024, I had the chance to visit the newly established Egg World Science Museum during the #WorldEggDay (WED2024) celebrations. Located on the campus of the Shanghai University of Sport, this museum provides visitors, young and older, lots of information about #eggs. Established in 1996 by the International Egg Commission, this day-long event acknowledges the many contributions made by eggs and the egg sector. And since celebrating the nutritional value of eggs should reallly last more than a day, HEZA Initiative in #Rwanda was encouraging during the #WED2024 young minds to find ways through #socialmedia to convince their friends to eat more eggs (~12 / person/ year currently).
