Minister Paula Ingabire, Minister of ICT and Innovation called on the tech sector to reflect, strategize, and aim higher during today’s Members and Partners General Assembly: "We often ask—what can we do better? What challenges are we facing? But let’s not forget how much we’ve accomplished as an industry for Rwanda’s economy." Key takeaways from her powerful insights: - Over the week, we explored how technology has impacted tourism and other sectors—a sign of how far we’ve come. - The service industry, especially technology, has been a key driver of economic growth, as reported by National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda - The digital economy currently contributes 3% to GDP. A small number, but one we can grow with ambition and shared focus. "We need to build a hustler mentality like our neighbors in Kenya. Success is defined when companies grow from startups to established businesses." Hon. Minister closed with a vision: "Let this event become annual—a time to reflect on what we’ve achieved and where we’re headed.
