Gas-Fired Cogeneration Plants

نبذة عنا

ENGIE Tihama Power is a joint venture company established in 2003 and is a landmark project for Saudi Arabia, as it was the first large-scale Independent Power Project (IPP) to be undertaken in the Kingdom by the private sector. With an installed capacity of 1,612 MW of electrical power and 6.3 Million Pounds per Hour of processed steam (equivalent to 767 MW-hrs of additional power capacity), the company generates electrical power and processed steam to service Uthmaniyah, Shedgum, Ras Tanura and Ju'ayma, four of Saudi Aramco’s refineries located in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. The company operates four electricity and steam co-generation power plants, with eleven operating units using General Electric frame 7 gas turbines and associated steam generating industrial boilers. All the gas turbines operate on natural gas supplied from the adjacent refinery, and return co-generated power under separate long-term Energy Conversion Agreements. Engie Tihama Power is a multicultural equal-opportunity employer, and has its main headquarters located in Al Khobar on the eastern coast of Saudi Arabia. The company employs under 200 direct staff, of which approximately 75% are Saudi nationals. Engie TPGCL is an ISO-14001, ISO-45001 and 55001 Certified Organization with ROSPA Golden Safety Award.
