The new standard in heart failure management

Om oss

Acorai is developing a device for heart failure management through non-invasive cardiac and pulmonary pressure sensing, to help reduce hospitalizations and readmissions. Our product can monitor cardiac and pulmonary pressure sensing non-invasively through a machine-learning analysis of pressure dynamics in acoustics, vibratory, and waveform data. Our technology shows compelling precision, has a low-risk clinical and regulatory pathway, a low dependence on reimbursement, and a fast track to commercialization.

Learn more about how Acorai is advancing heart failure management with our non-invasive SAVE Sensor System. ❤️ Who We Are: Acorai is dedicated to advancing non-invasive cardiovascular care, focused on improving patient outcomes and empowering clinicians with next-generation technology for enhanced patient management. ⚠️Key Problem: Heart failure patients are difficult to manage, accounting for high costs and readmission rates. Managing patients with cardiac and pulmonary pressures improves patient outcomes, but existing solutions are costly and invasive. 🏅Our Solution: SAVE Sensor System - Seismic (SCG), Acoustic (PCG), Visual (PPG), Electric (ECG)  Acorai’s patented SAVE Sensor System integrates multiple sensing technologies—seismocardiograpy, phonocardiography, photoplethysmography and electrocardiography —into a single device, trained on thousands of measurements from the gold standard: Right heart catheterization. Our multi-modal sensing platform was FDA Breakthrough Device designated in 2023, granting us access to the FDA Total Product Life Cycle Advisory Program (TAP) Pilot. 🤝Join Us on This Journey: Acorai is dedicated to shaping the future of cardiac care through non-invasive innovation. If you’re interested in our vision, let’s connect! We welcome opportunities to collaborate, partner, and share our journey with those equally committed to improving patient care. Much work is still left to be done in the world of Heart Failure (HF). I have often talked about the advantages of leveraging high growth markets to positively impact the trajectory of one's career in Med Tech. Individuals looking to harness the power of these tailwinds would be wise to keep an eye on this market. Here's a few interesting data points to consider: ·     80% of HF costs are associated with inpatient stays. ·     HF accounts for approximately 27% of all hospital readmissions, making it the most burdensome disease for inpatient care.   ·     HF affects roughly 6.7MM people in the US and 64MM worldwide. ·     Roughly 1MM of the 6.7MM individuals with heart failure are hospitalized each year due to their condition. 30% of these patients return to the ER within one month of being discharged, resulting poor quality of life and a cost of over $100B to the US healthcare system. ·     The lifetime risk of HF has increased to 24%; approximately 1 in 4 persons will develop HF in their lifetime. ·     In 2021, HF was a contributing cause in approximately 425,147 deaths and accounted for 45% of cardiovascular deaths in the U.S. ·     Admission with Acute Decompensated Heart Failure (ACHF) is associated with a high 1-year mortality of approximately 30%. Stable chronic HF patients have experienced significant improvement in their prognosis with the discovery of new HF drugs. This is not the case for Acute Compensated Heart Failure (ACDF) patients however. A significant opportunity for technology advancement exists in the inpatient monitoring & management of this large patient subset.   Additionally, quality-based payment systems with ever changing performance metrics are replacing traditional volume-based fee-for-service models. These value-based models are intended to enhance care and decrease cost. However, to date, few technologies have been developed to address this need. The attached article from the Journal of Cardiac Failure does a nice job of outlining some of the recent and prospective technologies being developed to address the unmet needs mentioned above. The following are a few categories to keep a keen eye on: -> Remote Patient Monitoring (e.g. Cardiomems) -> Valvular Based Technologies (Repair/Replacement) -> Autonomic Modulators (e.g. CVRX) -> Electrophysiology Modulators (e.g. Impulse Dynamics) -> Respiratory Modulators (e.g. Respircardia) -> Structural Device-Based Interventions (e.g. Interatrial Shunts) -> Left Ventricular Assist Devices (e.g. Heartmate)

  • 📅 Save the Date! We’re excited to share that Filip Peters (CEO of Acorai), will be representing Acorai at the CSI FOCUS D-HF 2024 focused on Device-Based Therapy in Heart Failure. Join our session on Saturday, December 14th, from 13:30 to 14:50 CET, to catch our insights on how non-invasive cardiac and pulmonary pressure sensing is set to transform heart failure therapy. Don’t miss out – add the session to your calendar and stay ahead with the latest in cardiovascular innovation. 📅 Excited to connect with everyone in CSI Focus D-HF: December 13-14, 2024 Frankfurt, Germany 🔗https://lnkd.in/d7wGDXKw #CSIDHF2024 #csicongress #HeartFailure #MedTech #CardiacMonitoring #Acorai

4,461 miles away from home on the weekend in Arkansas! What would you do in my shoes? 🥾 This week, I had the privilege of collaborating with Anthony Carnicelli and Ryan Tedford at Medical University of South Carolina, followed by a visit to Conway Regional Health System. Exciting news - CAPTURE-HF, Acorai's non-invasive pulmonary artery, and cardiac pressure sensing device, exceeded its 1500 participant goal. Time to dive into closing the study and analyzing the data! 🔬 How does this relate to hiking in the Ozarks? 🏞️ Next on the agenda is meeting with Andrew J. Sauer, MD at Saint Luke's Mid America Heart Institute, and Darshan Brahmbhatt at Mount Sinai Hospital (Toronto), Sinai Health. From Conway, AR, to Kansas City, MO, I drove and decided to spend a Saturday trekking 18 miles through the stunning trees and boulders of a state park. Can't wait to see the outcomes of CAPTURE-HF Acorai! What other adventures could I have experienced in the wilderness between AR and MO? comment below 👇
