Thank You for an Unforgettable Evening 💚💫 ! Last thursday, we had the pleasure of hosting exclusive customer events at our Arkivet stores in Sergelstan, Stockholm, and in Fredstan, Gothenburg. It was truly a night to remember! Many hundreds of you joined us for an evening filled with music from a live DJ, bubbles, and—of course—plenty of fashion inspiration 💃. We are so grateful for each and every one of you who came out to celebrate with us. Your energy and enthusiasm makes everything we do worthwhile. One of the most memorable stores I visited in Stockholm was ARKIVET Second Hand. The resale fashion market is incredibly evolved in Sweden and Arkivet is a fascinating unique approach. The business model combines a supply base of 40,000 people who bring in used clothes. They are evaluated and some rejected. This is unusual for a second hand clothing offer, but the end result is a curated store of specific products to create a focused offer. Genius. We were given a fascinating talk by founder Caroline Hamrin and CEO Martin Hallander. I was busily typing stats and comments as they talked, here are the headlines: They use Instagram to promote new products and to ask suppliers to bring in specific items or colours. 60% of items brought in are accepted. The aim is to have the products on the shop floor within 25 minutes. 25 valuers are trained to ensure pricing is correct. They have a studio just next door for photography. Biggest customer age group 30-50, not Gen Z. 40,000 suppliers bring in clothes. Up to 600 products a day arrive into this one store. The window display is changed 3 times a day. 80% of products are sold within 2 weeks. After 30 days, if it's not sold, the supplier can pick up the product. Otherwise it goes to charity. Payment is made to the supplier the same day when sold. 1.3 million visitors each year The sell 600 different brands, on average 50% of RRP. This is a stunning business model, with a strong symbiosis between suppliers, the store and customers. And the store looks like a premium high street fashion store, not a second hand clothing offer. It doesn't even smell like your Grandma's wardrobe, like most resale stores.... Exciting news 💫! Today we are launching an updated brand identity to clarify our core values and unique business model. Partnering with Öström Studio the update includes a modernized logo, new graphics and the addition of the word "modern" to the tagline, reflecting Arkivet's commitment to offering curated, contemporary second-hand fashion. The new identity will gradually roll out across Arkivet’s stores and channels this fall.
