Hello from COP28! I’m pleased to be here with SCPA colleagues Merel Ariane Koolen, Urvashi Bhat, Anirban Chatterjee, Olga Rudkovskaya, Sandeep Lele, Anjana Sharma, Christopher Lilholm and Markus Zeitzen and to have begun our busy week packed full of speaking engagements, customer meetings and networking. I kicked off yesterday by facilitating a CDR panel organized by DNV Energy Systems, where we explored the pivotal role of carbon dioxide removal in fulfilling the objectives of the Paris Agreement. I was joined by an impressive panel of David Frank from Microsoft, Will Gardner from Drax Group, Irene Rummelhoff from Equinor, and Ruth Herbert from Carbon Capture and Storage Association (CCSA). This event brought together some of the key individuals and companies required to realise the full value chain of durable carbon removal: from emission points, capture technology providers, transport and storage, and end customers. Today, I’m looking forward to our DNV CEO Remi Eriksen leading our event ‘Facilitating the energy transition and decarbonization efforts with digitalization and AI’.   After this, Christopher Lilholm and I will lead a fireside chat delving into the key insights from our new report ‘Lean and green: building sustainable and cost-efficient supply chains’ at the World Green Economy Organization (WGEO) Pavillion in the Blue Zone. In this, we will explore the challenges and opportunities specifically for the steel industry, including upcoming regulation, decarbonization strategies, and digitalization.   It’s been fantastic making so many new connections, seeing so many familiar faces, and having the opportunity to lead so many important conversations already in Dubai about how we build a greener, more sustainable future for our planet. I’m excited for what the rest of the week will bring!
