⭐ CSRD: More Than Just Reporting ⭐ CSRD, ESRS, DMA, IROs... a new vocabulary is reshaping the way thousands of EU companies approach sustainability. At Enact, we've been guiding organisations through these transformative requirements—not just for compliance, but to help them rethink how they do business sustainably. A new perspective: The CSRD isn't just a reporting exercise. It's an opportunity. With a well-executed Double Materiality Analysis (DMA), companies can gain valuable insights to reduce harm and create sustainable opportunities. In our latest blog, we share how this mindset shift is helping businesses—from all sectors—integrate the ESRS standards into their strategies for lasting impact. Let’s redefine sustainability together. Read the full blog post through the link below and learn more about how Enact supports businesses with their sustainability journey: https://lnkd.in/dDwqga37

Last week, the Swedish Business and Human Rights Network held its final meeting of the year. The agenda covered a wide range of topics, with Lisa Osbäck and Ebba Isaksson leading a engaging discussion about how to manage value chains in complex markets with conflicting expectations. May Hylander and Nazrin Huseinzade shared practical advice on incorporating human rights into contracts to prevent and mitigate harm. Marta Piazza who attended the UN Forum on BHR gave us an overview of the key discussions and insights from the event. A special thanks to Tara Scally from Zeeman textielSupers for joining and sharing from a practical experience the purpose and use of two-way code of conduct as part of responsible contracting and to the group for engaging and sharing challenges and best practice. Big thanks to all the members of the Swedish Business and Human Rights Network for an excellent year! If you’re interested in joining the network in 2025, don’t hesitate to reach out to Sandra Atler or May Hylander. Contact information: sandra.atler@enact.fi may.hylander@enact.se

"Do you know where your Friday dinner fish comes from?" 🐟 Our colleagues Karin Iseman & Tuuli Nummelin recently conducted an impact assessment in Vietnam's Mekong Delta to uncover the human and environmental impacts of pangasius farming. From supply chain workers to neighboring communities and ecosystems, the ripple effects are real — and so is the responsibility to avoid harm. Enact Sustainable Strategies' team of experts specialises in identifying and mitigating risks in global supply chains, delivering tailored and practical solutions to minimise harm, enhance resilience, and create lasting value for all stakeholders. Reach out to learn more!
Do you know where your Friday dinner fish comes from? 🐟 Together with my colleague Karin Iseman, I recently traveled to the Vietnam Mekong Delta to conduct a Human Rights and Environmental Impact Assessment (HREIA) on pangasius fish. It was an eye-opening experience that showed how very well connected global supply chains are, and the responsibility businesses have in ensuring ethical practices throughout the chain. Every business has an impact on people's lives—not only those directly involved in the supply chain but also those in the surrounding communities, and on ecosystems. As the upcoming EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (#CSDDD) takes effect, companies will be required to deepen their understanding of these impacts and be accountable for them. Are you ready? 🌍 Pic: Visiting a durian farmer living next to a fish farm.

Earlier this month Enact´s May Hylander took part in a consultation workshop in Berlin for the European Model Clauses that are intended to help companies operationalise principles of responsible contracting in line with the expectations of the CSDDD. Do you sit with experience from improving contracts to better enable respect for human rights and the environment? Your learnings are important! There is right now a chance to comment on the draft clauses until the 2nd of December: https://lnkd.in/ghV22c-8 If you want to learn more about what the CSDDD says about contracts, how it connects to effective Sustainability Due Diligence and how we can support you in the journey, do not hesitate to reach out (may.hylander@enact.se).
💭How can contracts effectively integrate #humanrights and environmental standards into supply chains? 🌍 Last week, we hosted a workshop on this question, co-organized with the Responsible Contracting Project. Together, we explored the Zero Draft for European Model Contract clauses, designed to embed human rights and enviornmental due diligence into supply agreements, in alignment with the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (#CSDDD). 🙌 Thank you to all the participants for sharing your insights and expertise and to Michaela Streibelt and Daniel Schönfelder for co-organizing the workshop! The consultation on the Zero Draft is still ongoing. If you would like to provide input, please do so via the online survey or by reaching out to myself or Michaela Streibelt.
