Two weeks have flown since we were at the amazing location World of Volvo listening to industry experts talk about how their companies are implementing innovations and initiatives to not only reduce their impact but drive change for the industry. From inspiring startup pitches at GoWest - Nordic Venture Capital Forum and deep dives into sustainability and AI at the Gothenburg Sustainability Expo to a space bar afterwork and a NASA hackathon – every moment was a testament to the innovation and collaborative spirit of our amazing community. Off to a flying start 🚀 Yesterday a full NASA Space Apps Challenge occupied YESBOX - Home of Entrepreneurs to begin deep diving into the chosen challenges. The teams have been inspired by speakers such as Sammie Chimusoro, startup coach Innovatum Science Park, Filip Kocian 🎗️investor at Expansion / Rymdkapital, Patrik Sandin, Satellites Senior Product Portfolio Manager at Beyond Gravity and Rasmus Maråk, research engineer at AI Sweden. At 5 pm it's time for the teams to present their solutions. ✨ Two incredible days so far at Gothenburg Tech Week ✨ Yesterday at Gothenburg Sustainability Expo, we dove into the realms of sustainability, collaboration, and AI. The atmosphere inside the beautiful World of Volvo, enhanced by the wonderful weather, made the experience even more special. Together with Tele2 , we explored how AI and innovation can drive a more connected, sustainable future 🌱 We delved into AI's practical applications in supply chain management with Thomas Buch Andersson from Responsibly and participated in four impactful masterclasses: 🌍 Material things need to change! - Volvo Cars shared their journey toward a net-zero, nature-positive future. 🌍 AI for sustainability in a sustainable way - Discussing eco-friendly ways to use AI to tackle environmental challenges with IBM and NVIDIA. 🌍 Beyond the obvious - An open dialogue on how to involve more actors in Gothenburg’s ambitious climate targets. 🌍 How can the industry support an efficient energy transition? - Led Göteborg Energi, focusing on green energy priorities. We also had the chance to hear pitches from startups and see their innovative solutions in action. And all of this was only a small portion of all the magic that we got to experience yesterday! A heartfelt thank you to our partners Plug and Play Europe and Sweden with Taline Yerganyan, Christian Johansson, Emelie Stark and Daniele Quadrani. What a tremendous work you’ve done. From innovative mycelium-based foods to smart swimwear that automatically inflates if a child is submerged for too long, and AI-powered parental support – the creativity and passion we witnessed were truly inspiring. We also delved into the realities of startup funding with a panel exploring the challenges of raising over 60 million SEK (not an easy task!). Our investor panel shed light on the current fundraising environment and gave us valuable advice on not raising VC money too early (or even at all) 💡 We also got to hear from NVIDIA about the future of AI – the potential ahead is simply mind-blowing! We're about to kick off 😱 Here’s a sneak peek behind Auktionsverket Kulturarena where we will have our first event of the week with GoWest @ Gothenburg Tech Week. We will welcome 120 investors and startups where we will hear from 6 startups pitching on stage, two panels focusing on an investor's fundraising perspective and a talk about the future of AI startups. P.S. Introducing our moderator for this week, Stephanie Darvill! 🔥 She may be a familiar face to you as she was the moderator for last year’s GBG Tech Week and we are very happy to have her back this year! She will be moderating all day on Wednesday (including moderating multiple panels and Q&As! 🙌) She’s a seasoned stage host and moderator, capable of transforming any setting into an enchanting experience.
