Today we moved into our new "home"! Thanks to Helsingborgs stad, Helena Wennerström and Helén Henningsson for providing us with the fresh new office and to Mindpark for the warm welcome! 🙏 We'll be sharing the office with Campus Vänner and Sustainalink, and look forward to a new chapter in the HIC journey. 😊 A base at Mindpark gives us access to a thriving community of coworkers and businesses, an event space, and flexible meeting and work spaces. 👍 They also have coworking offices in Lund, Malmö, and Gothenburg. ✨️ Creating social impact through meaningful partnerships ✨️ How inspiring it is to see a global company working with their local municipality and community to effect real change! After Helsingborg International Connections' recent collaboration with Ingka Group, we were delighted to be invited to an event last night at #DoMore in Copenhagen. Do More began as a collaboration between Ingka Group and Helsingborgs stad during H22 City Expo, which resulted in 64 people finding work. It has now been rolled out to the rooftop of the IKEA store in Carsten Niebuhrs Gade. The concept is simple, but effective. Do More is a social enterprise helping local foreign-born people into employment by giving them practical work experience. The new venue has been carefully designed, using sustainable and innovative materials. It incorporates a restaurant, conference, and event space. The rooftop location is spectacular and the food - vegetarian, locally sourced, and a fusion of Scandi and Middle Eastern - is delicious! It's definitely a venue to check out for a cosy meal, friends' get-together, Sunday brunch, or a work event. 😊 Many thanks to Linda Cordoba and Jette Jørgensen for the invitation, and the chance to reunite with our recent programme and event speakers, Katie Pettersson EMBA, Kristofer Rönström, Jorgelina Melano, Kate Plaskonis, and Charlotte Kirchheiner Brovil. We are delighted to welcome Nederman as a HIC Business Member! ✨️ Nederman is a well-known and established environmental technology company in Helsingborg that manufactures industrial air filtration products to make workplaces cleaner and safer for employees, reduce air pollution, and improve efficiency. 🙌 It was founded in Helsingborg in 1944, with the factory and office premises growing around the Nedermans' villa, located between Planteringen and the port. 🌍 Nederman employs 2500 people globally, including 250 in Sweden and 600 in the USA. Now in its 80th year, the business has moved to brand-new premises in Landskronavägen, just south of Ramlösa Station. The building has been designed with sustainability in mind, incorporating wide open spaces, a living wall, solar panels that will provide surplus electricity during summer, and 85% recycled furniture. We visited Eva Carin Svensson, Senior Vice President of Human Resources to present her with a membership certificate and mark the occasion with a gift of flowers. We asked Eva Carin what attracted Nederman to partner with HIC: 👉 Why did you decide to become a HIC Business Member? ✅️ "We're happy to support a local initiative which benefits the business community. We see good opportunities to collaborate and spread the word about our work!" 👉 What benefits do you see in partnering with HIC? ✅️ "It's good for us to be able to tell our new international employees that they can participate in HIC activities and meet other people. It's helpful for our recruits and good for employer branding. We can also see the need for tailored support for individual employees when they arrive in Sweden. We think it's a win-win situation!"
